A mayor in the world of Adolon is an elected and trusted member of a community. Quite often the job of the mayor falls upon their son if the father did a good job. The people rely on a mayor to do the right thing and protect the common folk.
Qualifications
Most mayors have graduated from The School of the Emperor.
Requirements
The two requirements are that the person has turned 19 and that they are a trusted member of society.
Appointment
The people of the specific town hold a vote to see who gets the position.
Duties
The duties of the mayor include guaranteeing the safety of their people, lots of paperwork, making sure that taxes are collected and sent to the capital and being the face of the town in political meetings.
Benefits
The mayor usually gets a more comfortable living situation. This includes a wage, a home, and some land.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
If a mayor doesn't do their duties correctly, the people of their town can issues a vote to cast the mayor out of office.
