Hellriders

The Hellriders are a group of skilled horsemen who act as the primary armed force of the city of Elturel. Skilled soldiers who fight from horseback, they are typically proficient with spears, short bows, and a curved saber similar to a scimitar. Hellriders are superbly equipped and trained as a fearsome fighting force equaled by few realms in Faerûn

Activities

In addition to policing the city itself, they patrol the bulk of Elturgard . The long patrols of the Hellriders, 30 riders strong, pass along the roads every four hours, night and day. The upkeep of the patrols is aided by lodges (stockaded outposts) placed strategically within their patrol area, where food, water, flammables, weapons, and fresh mounts are kept for them. These lodges are protected against arson and petty theft by strong wards.
