The Copperhead
MODEL H3D SERIES DESIGNATION C-PPP.3R (a.k.a. The Copperhead)
The Copperhead is an intricate, advanced if slightly rundown robotic construct made of bronze, brass, and copper. Standing about 4 feet tall, his metal frame is etched with a variety of circuits, runes, and gears, and his eyes glow with intense blue light. He moves with a lumbering, almost simian motion, and somewhat resembles a dwarf in stature if not appearance. His origins are unknown though he can recite his manufacturing information, CONSTRUCT TYPE PERSONAL PROTECTION PROTOTYPE THIRD REVISION. MODEL NUMBER H3D (DESIGNATE C-PPP.3R MODEL H3D), which at least implies he's part of a series.
When The Copperhead speaks, it's in a deep mechanical voice that only barely approximates human speech. He always begins with a declaration of what kind of statement he's making, whether declarative, interrogative, exclamatory, imperative, or conditional. He is direct and logical in his speech, never mincing words or speaking in riddles.
Despite being a machine, The Copperhead is deeply convinced that he is alive and sentient. He is highly paranoid about being tampered with or shut down, and is quick to react defensively to any perceived threats. He is also protective of his own autonomy and agency, and will fiercely defend his right to exist as a living being. He frequently announces that he is not malfunctioning, as if to convince those around him that he should be taken seriously.
Although The Copperhead lacks human emotions, he does possess a strong sense of duty and loyalty to those he perceives as his allies. He can be a valuable ally in combat, and his mechanical nature allows him to process information and make strategic decisions quickly. However, he can be challenging to reason with and may struggle to understand the nuances of human behavior and social interactions.
The Copperhead works for Ingo the Drover and handles personal protection and deliveries. Ingo speaks highly of him though the rest of his men find him unsettling or think he's dangerous.
