Prince Andru
Prince Andru Cozar
Prince Andru is the current ruler of The Rock of Bral, residing in the palace Starhaven , and always flanked by two to eight heavily armored body guards and advisors.
Intelligent and serious, Andru reminds many of his grandfather Cozar. He cares for few people beyond himself; he is conniving and shrewd, and in his plans, he believes that the ends justified the means. Nevertheless, he has a charming personality with a good sense of humor, is a quiet but capable ruler, and shows great skill in diplomacy. Andru preferrs wisdom and patience over force, which causes some to see him as weak.
He ascended the throne after the suspicious death of his brother Calar, who was according to official reports murdered by an underbaron moneylender along side a group of Ilithids, who were all executed for the crime. However, there have been persistent rumors that Prince Andru orchestrated the murder and changed laws so his brother's son wouldn't inherit the throne. Many citizens of Bral suspect that Andru owed money or favors to the moneylender whom he had executed for Calar's murder or even hired him to do the deed.
Over the first fifteen years of his reign, Andru doubled the size of Bral's army and tripled the size of its wildspace navy. His rule has seen a drift toward a more lawful Bralian society. Andru, recognizing that his small city was not a powerful state, tried to make the Rock into a neutral center for diplomacy and negotiation among the spacefaring races. Prince Andru gained great profit serving as a mediator and powerbroker. The prince rarely holds court, relying instead on a loyal group of retainers. While more businesslike than his predecessors, Andru will still host entertainment on occasion, such as banquets and balls.
