Land Ahoy!

One of the First captain's own is never truly lost at sea. This I know, nae matter what the charts foolishly try ta tell me. Open water all around, nary a bird nary a sound. Point the way Captain, show this humble servant which way ta turn their gaze. Do me this service, and a cut o' loot shall I happily pay.

The Land-Call

Effect

Basic Effects: As the power flows from you and your prayers into the compass you hold, it seems to demagnetize, to lose its functionality, but you know better. As the needle spins suddenly and stops, you take note of the heading. The compass is pointing towards the nearest permanent (so not tidal) landmass with plant life growing on it. There is no guarantee this will be more than a 'spitter' a tiny uninhabited island, however if you have no real landmark, this can still be useful, as the prayer will ignore any land within 2500 feet of the ship you are upon. For the duration the compass you utilized will point the way to this landmass.

Side/Secondary Effects

Tier II Effects: Range increases to 75 miles.

Tier III Effects: Range increases to 100 miles.

Manifestation

Though you never lay eyes on it, as the compass turns, you trust instinctually the change in direction, knowing the feeling of power coursing through you. The First Captain guides, and he knows all on the high seas. If he points to what your charts claim is naught but open water, there be land there. You just need to get aligned and then stay the course and keep eyes on the horizon and on the compass in hand.
