Street Grid Organization {SGO}
A new logistics approach, perhaps less than five decades old, has been sweeping Valerick the world over. Every nation is developing it, refining it, and building it up, and it has and will continue to change and alter civilian communication and the way business is done world wide. It is a simple change, in theory, and one that whilst not a technological advance in the form of a device or piece of gear, is no less technological in its nature than those other thing. Street Grid Organization, or SGO is the way of the future. It is how cities are being built, towns are growing and how society is organizing. It is an unsung hero of expanding the abilities of society to grow, to rise, to revolutionize and industrialize.
But what is SGO exactly? Well SGO is the concept and practice of naming streets within a settlement, and assigning each building on that street a number in some sort of established order, so no two buildings have the same number. This combined with the district and city and nation make up the address of the building and that information is used to allow mail to be targeted and sent directly to that address. If a structure houses multiple dwellings, those will also all have a unique numerical value, usually tied to stating the floor and then the flat or apartment on that floor in some sort of numerical reference. This system has refined shipping and postage all across Valerick in the last fifty years as it has developed and become more standardized and more common place.
Naturally older parts of some cities are still transitioning. It is a lot time, coin and labor to set up the chaos of some older urban areas for this, they are less well organized, less properly structured for this system to work, and therefore adjustments must be made.

Bah! This new fangled numbers business. Wasn't it good enough to know "Bolign's house three down from Hafnart's smithy?" Good technical article, if a bit dry. :)
Sometimes advancement can be very dry indeed, and yet one cannot deny for something so simple, it makes big changes in how things would be handled. Thank you very much, I'll admit this one was a 'whip it up, get enough words, get the concept on paper, and leave' lol.
