Chicago American

The Chicago American is an afternoon newspaper owned by William Randolph Hearst. In many ways it's the perfect example of yellow journalism, relying upon sensationalism and innuendo to sell newspapers. The staff is very aggressive about their pursuit of scoops and will, on occasion, make one up, if nothing better comes along before press time.

Public Agenda

The American has a strong nationalist agenda and its readership tends to be in the middle to upper-middle class.
