Rhea, Titaness of Fertility
(Current whereabouts and status are unknown)
Rhea is the daughter of Ouranos, the Skyfather and Gaia, Mother Earth.
Mother of:
Zeus, King of the Gods,
Hera, Queen of Olympus,
Hades, King of the Underworld,
Hestia, Goddess of Civilization,
Demeter, Goddess of Agriculture,
Poseidon, King of the Seven Seas.
While pregnant with her first child, Rhea was gifted a vision that warned of her children's impending doom by their father's hand. Unable to stop Kronos, Leader of the Titans from consuming all of her children but Zeus, King of the Gods, she managed to fool her husband with statue of Zeus, allowing the real Zeus to flee. When Zeus eventually freed the rest of his siblings and rallied against their father, her children were victorious but alas, the fates were cruel to Rhea as her destiny was tied to the Titans, she too was defeated and stripped of her powers.
The longest existing tale from mortal tongues is that even her children were not so cruel to banish their mother to misery and allowed her another fate instead, though what it is or was exactly, is unknown.
When the Titans were defeated, Rhea's powers were absorbed by: Demeter, Goddess of Agriculture (Motherhood, Earth & Stone, and Fertility [Later passed onto Persephone, Queen of the Underworld] and Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt (Wild Animals & the Wilderness).
