Blog-Post: My Opinion on Earthlings

Someone recently asked me what I thought of Earthlings, since I was alive before they were discovered, and I don’t think many of you understand just how different they were back then. Back when they were still “humans”, that is.

Okay, let’s start with the basics:
Humans were discovered in 8.209 T/A by the CTIA around the same time the ICA was created, apparently funded in an instant by the Alliance. Even though the CTIA had all rights to the new species, they gave it up to the new independent academy, in order to support fellow organizations. Even those opposing the Alliance still get treated with unlimited kindness, it seems. When the ICA was attacked by the new species, they helped them without any reward. The Alliance tried to gave them a place in Aeborona, even making them a sentient!
Many people were unsure of this decision, including myself, but the Alliance has never failed us, yet. Unlimited power, unlimited knowledge and unlimited kindness, or so it seems. And yet, humans bit the hand that fed them. Even when humans continued to lash out and many protested as being the same classification as them, the Alliance didn’t take away their right of being a sentient. If I’m going to be honest, they didn’t seem like an intelligent life-form back then, I would have taken away their classification without a second though. Yet, the Alliance didn’t. Of course, they had to take a few rights away, but they were still an official part of our society. They had to be confined to their planet, too, for our safety. Still, it was way more than they deserved, I’m sure. But who am I to question the Alliance?
A lot of time has passed between then and the actual start of their modification. The ICA started to mod them, giving them a second chance at integration.
Sometimes I ask myself how they even were able to live on the same surfaces as us, if they weren’t modified before. But maybe I just missed something, I never actually saw any Earthlings back then, not being allowed on Earth and all that. Anyway, they started to become more like us after the announcement in 9.445 T/A. It actually didn’t take all that long for them to become normal and less human! I couldn’t imagine having to be with someone who is still all fully-humanoid, just thinking about it gives me the creeps.
Now, they at least hide their face if they still look too humanoid. That’s the least they can do, right? If they want to join our Alliance, they have to also have to abide to our standards. And they really tried, so the Alliance actually stopped calling them “humans”.
As of 9.636 T/A, they were officially Earthlings and were actually a real sentient by 9.815 T/A. Of course there are still some humans crawling around, we can’t quite get rid of them yet. I still can’t believe that they are still technically sentients by the Alliance, Earthlings I can understand, but humans? No thanks.
They are more like infestations, if anything. So damn aggressive, always trying to hurt something. Earthlings can be like that, sometimes, too! Last week I saw one of them on the TV, they are so weird.
I have nothing against Earthlings, of course. I just don’t want them in my station, you know? I couldn’t imagine serving someone like that, especially when they have to take their mask off. It’s nothing against them, personally, I just prefer normal sentients.
Ah, I’m sure you understand, especially those of my species. Don’t worry too much about it.

Okay, until next time, and stay safe from those humans!
