Aedan Moonsong (STATUS: AVAILABLE)

Aedan is a goblin of Nethuoril. He is a member of House Moonsong, a minor house composed of goblins devoted to the worship of Lirovka.   When the human tribes that had been loyal to Vorynn during the War of Shadow first settled the lands west of Lake Ladan, they did not realize that several goblin clans already resided below the surface of their Holy Land. When the goblin presence was discovered, the Vos took decisive action to cleanse the underground cavern system. Those who were not killed in the goblin purge were taken as slaves.   At first, goblins were used as field hands, construction workers, miners, dung sweepers, trash collectors, and menial laborers. But as the goblin population grew, the Vos were pleasantly surprised to find that they were able to teach some goblins how to read and write. From 500-700 HC, the goblin population were given increasingly advanced education and training. Eventually, the Vos of Nethuoril began to regard goblins as experts who excelled in the fields of mathematics, engineering, architecture, construction, masonry, and sculpture. Today, buildings designed by Nethuorilian goblin architects and engineers are marvels of function and aesthetics.   When Grace III ascended to her Primacy, she began a thorough review of the many draconian laws her predecessor had enacted during Nethuoril's "Period of Penance" in the wake of its civil war. Grace III restored most of the civil liberties that had been stripped from Nethuoril's citizens but she didn't stop there. She abolished slavery and granted goblins full status as citizens of the Holy City and even went so far as to create Minor Houses for goblinkind in recognition for their contributions to Nethuoril. House Moonsong's members tended to the spiritual needs of the Nethourilean goblins and became a recognized sect of the Temple of Lirovka.   Aedan was born in 1484 HC (40 years before the present date). As an acolyte, he served as a go-between messenger between House Moonsong's matron and the Temple of Lirovka. It was in that capacity that he had been in the Argent Basilica during an attempted coup. Mourning the death of Aduras Vesk (who had died a hero's death ending the Days of Fire in the kingdom of Zoloskaya), the Primate had been discussing funeral arrangements with the Prime Minister, the later of the two being the intended recepient of the message he was to deliver. While Aedan dutifully waited in an antechamber, assassins infiltrated the Argent Basilica intending a coup. It was then that Lirovka place his hands on the goblin acolyte's shoulders, guiding him into the Primate's private audience chamber.   Aedan didn't remember picking up the dagger belonging to one of the dead assassins but he recalled that the Primate was somehow coming closer, not realizing at the time that it was he who was walking to her. One of the assassins broke through the line of defenders and lifted his weapon to strike down the Primate, but Aeden stepped between them and plunged the dagger he carried into the assassin's heart. Aedan felt a moment of indescribable loss as Lirovka removed his guiding hands from the young goblin's shoulders but that loss was immediately replaced by the shock of divine energy flooding his body. The assassin had been a blooded scion and, in saving the Primate, Aedan had unwittingly committed bloodtheft.   As a citizen of the Hidden Nation, no one outside the kingdom's borders knows of Aedan's existence, much less of his heroics. But, within the Holy City itself, not a man woman or child hasn't heard the story of the young acolyte who foiled a coup and became the first goblin in Nethuoril's history to possess a divine bloodline.   Since then, Aedan's life has greatly changed. He was rewarded for his heroism by the Primate herself and, when told he would be granted a boon of his choosing, he politely declined, saying, "Serving Lirovka is my only desire." The Primate smiled and replied, "Your boon is granted."   The following day, Aedan was reassigned to serve as a member of the Primate's retinue and has served as a trusted agent, advisor, and confidant ever since. The past decade has been spent serving as the Primate's lieutenant -- another first for goblinkind.   Recently, Aedan has been experiencing what he believes to be prophetic dreams. Although he cannot remember specifics, upon waking he has the unshakable feeling that Lirovka has been speaking to him while he sleeps. After several weeks of these nocturnal encounters, Aedan came to understand that Lirovka wants him to return to the land of his ancestors and bring the light of Lirovka with him.   Last night, Aedan took part in a mystic ceremony that granted him power unlike any other. The ceremony allowed the Primate to gift him with enough regency to enable him to create a new temple domain in Kal Kalathor. It was both a great honor and a grave responsibility.   Now, his work begins.

Elke Kupple (STATUS: AVAILABLE)

Elke Kupple is the granddaughter of Prince Erik Kupple, Lord of Holde (the westernmost province of the Kingdom of Hjorig). At the time of her birth, her great-grandfather, King Enders Kupple, sat upon Hjorig's throne. King Enders had three sons, Prince Einas, Prince Edric, and Prince Erik, and a daughter named Princess Edda.   When King Enders died, Prince Einas had inherited the crown. King Einas gave several of Hjorig's provinces to his younger siblings to rule in his name. King Einas married late in life but, before he died, he managed to produce an heir. His son is Einar Kupple, the current King of Hjorig.   Like his brother, Prince Erik only had one son before he died. His son, had three children of his own -- the eldest of the three being Elke.   Elke was 16 when her father died. In response to the tragedy, she and her siblings were summoned to live at the royal palace as wards of the king. Elke's younger siblings did indeed go to live with the king. Elke, herself, was forced to refuse because she had just said her vows and was officially an Initiate of the clergy.   While Elke had been learning the ways of Lirorn and advancing within the temple hierarchy, her clan had suffered tragedy after tragedy. Today, she is the Voice of Lirorn, Archpriestess of the Temple of the Tor of Lirorn, spiritual leader of the Kingdom of Hjorig. And all that is left of the Kupple clan is herself and her first cousin once-removed -- King Einar Kupple.   Since becoming the regent of the Temple of the Tor of Lirorn, Elke has found King Einar to be difficult to work with. Over the years, she has come to suspect that the tragedies visited upon her clan may have been instigated by the King, himself. She has seen no evidence that supports such conjecture but her access to divine magic provides a readily available means to discover the truth of the matter easily enough. However, she is unsure if she truly wants to know the answer to that question, so she has refrained from asking for Lirorn's divine insight on the matter. She has no desire to make herself an enemy of the King.   Unfortunately, it seems the King has no problem making himself an enemy of the Tor.   King Einar's subjects have started to rebel against his unjust and oft-erratic rule. Perhaps fueled by paranoia, the King recently destroyed Elke's temple holdings in the Capital province and has taken its priests as his prisoner. To make matters worse, today she received a summons, demanding her presence at the royal court.   A fine pickle, indeed.

Jabil min Rilni (STATUS: AVAILABLE)

Jabil min Rilni is a short, bandy-legged man who comes from a family with but a minor bloodline whose ancestral seat of power largely consists of open savanna, a single, small oasis, and goats. So many goats.   Even as a young child, Jabil seemed to see things that others did not. He did not play with other children his age, instead giving his undivided attention to his imaginary friend. Following the instructions of his imaginary friend, Jabil ran away from home when he was but 11 years old. The voice of his friend guided him safely to the Fingers of Ayan, the jagged mountains straddling the border of Khouraine and Mairada. Up, up, up, he went into high mountains, until, at last, on his 12th birthday, Jabil finally arrived at his new home: the Temple of Rilni. He told the mage-priests at the temple that he had come to learn and learn he did.   He simply never left.   Now, over five decades since his arrival, Jabil is the seniormost of Rilni's priests and the regent of the temple. He is renown throughout the domain of Mairada for his wisdom. When the flighty Sultana shirks her duty as a ruler and ignores matters of state, her counsellors turn to Jabil for direction. Now, many officials and courtiers have learned to ask his opinion before obeying her orders.   It has recently come to Jabil's attention that agents of The Serpent have taken advantage of the Sultana's inattention. Unless someone takes action, Mairada just may find itself under that ancient awnshelien's rule.

Kort Lap Tanrus (STATUS: AVAILABLE)

Kort Lap-Tanrus is the leader of the Nachteben (Priests of Ruornil) of the Coulladraight. "Lap-Tanrus" means "half-elf" in the Low Brecht tongue. Kort's father was a human Nachteben who resided in Treucht. At the time of his birth, Kort's paternal grandfather was the Nachteben's spiritual leader. Kort's mother was an Elf originally from Coullabhie. Upon the death of his grandfather, Kort and his family moved to Rheulgard and his father became the Nachteben's regent.

Coincidentally, Kort's maternal uncle also married a human; their son, Fin Haeaelfyn, is Kort's cousin. Unlike Kort, who was born in Treucht and raised in Rheulgard, Fin was born and raised in Coullabhie. Over the years, the two cousins have become quite close, having bonded over many similar experiences that comes with being born of two worlds.

When his father died, Kort became the regent of the Nachteben. That was almost 150 years ago. By all appearances, Kort is a man no older than 30. His elven blood, responding to the fey magic of nearby Coullabhie, that is responsible for Kort's appearance -- few would guess that he has been alive for almost two centuries.

Luther Helmsen (STATUS: AVAILABLE)

Worship of the Silver Prince came to Grevesmuhl during the days of occupation by the Anuirean Empire. In those days, Ruornil's Silver Guard had been a militant order with a singular purpose: to defend the realm from Shadow World incursions. As the order grew over time, so too did its responsibilities. A second branch formed, one that saw to the spiritual needs of the people. Today, these two branches are roughly equal in size and both take direction from the temple's regent, the Captain of Ruornil's Silver Guard. For the past 15 years, you have been that Captain.   Today, the Order spends more of its time defending Grevesmuhl from dangers originating on this side of the veil. Local bandits, Vos raiders, and Gnoll marauders have been a growing problem. The local guilds have little respect for nature and seem intent on provoking the dwarves of Daikar-Zhaigun, Grevesmuhl's Southern neighbor. But these problems pale by comparison when measured against the harm caused by Grevesmuhl's ruler. For the past century, the Karlburgher Dukes have been either greedy, incompetent, or disinterested. The current ruler, Duke Shames Karlbergher, is all three.

Suris Enlien (STATUS: AVAILABLE)

Suris Enlien is the Archpriestess of the Temple of Ruornil's Celestial Spell and the Baronness of Braeme (a barony composed of the provinces of Alamier, Braeme, and Caerwil). Because its regent wields both spiritual and temporal authority, Medoere is a theocracy. In all of Anuire, only Talinie shares this distinction.
