Cother
Cother, also known as the Judge of the Dead, is the god of the dead and master of Umbra, the plane of shadow. Unlike Zantyr, the evil god of death, Cother acts a neutral steward of the afterlife and provides a sense of certainty for the dying. He is fair, yet cold, and maintains a deep respect for both life and death, and holds the undead in the uttermost contempt. As the lord of Umbra, Cother has developed true impartiality to the realm of Unum.

Divine Symbols & Sigils
Integral to Cother's symbology is the eight-sided scythe. It is displayed in his churches, on the vestments of his dedicated clerics, and upon the monuments in the graveyards.
Tenets of Faith
It is believed the newly dead are guided into the realm of Umbra, where their souls await judgement by Cother himself. He assigns each essence to their appropriate place in the eternal cycle of existence, leading souls to their next life.
Cother and his faithful understand that death is not a part of life, but rather a beginning instead of an end. Death should not be seen as a punishment, but a step in a revered journey. Because of his guidance, death is an orderly process, without deception or chaos. It is not to be prolonged, rushed, or evaded through undeath.
It is the will of Cother that no sentient being should die of natural causes without one of his priests to attend them. The dying should know that Cother is merciful, and should not be feared.
Holidays
At the close of the year, many on Aecenys observe the Final Judgement, a holiday dedicated to the reflection of the choices made over the past year. It places Cother in a positive light, appreciating the living and honoring the dead. It takes place on 30 Cotherum, the day before the beginning of the new year.
