Marius Calid
Tribune Marius Calid
Marius Calid serves as a Tribune within the Corinian Army, with authority over 10,000 soldiers divided into eight separate centuries and two auxiliary regiments. His most notable endeavor is the invasion of the Southern Marches, propagated by a hasty declaration of war by the league.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Although many within the ranks of the Corinian Army are ambitious and militaristic, Marius is motivated by something more altruistic. He believes in the greater cause of reducing and eliminating arcane magic from the world after seeing its effects it has had on both friends and family. Most significantly, during a recent campaign in Uruger, his son joined the legion as a legionary within his ranks, and after a run in with wild magic sorcerers, his son fell in battle. This spurred Marius to push himself even further in his crusade against the arcane, and army has provided the perfect outlet for his quest for vengeance.
Virtues & Personality perks
Regardless of the general perception of Corinian soldiers, Marius is an honorable and honest man. He will not betray the code during battle, and will always take prisoners when they surrender. He is also kind to the young and innocent, putting in extra effort to ensure their safety especially during war time.
Vices & Personality flaws
Marius is known to be relentless, and because of this sometimes pushes his men to their very limits when campaigning throughout Aecenys. His fervent worship of Maelik has translated into a lust for war, a desire to prove himself in every battle, and to ensure that victory can be achieved regardless of cost. His warmongering nature doesn't stop on the battlefield, and sometimes his violent tendencies roll over into every day life. His cool demeanor is but a disguise for the temperamental soldier underneath.
