Sunstone of Elel

The sunstone is a large, yellow gemstone reminiscent of a golden citrine. It's divine capabilities channel the goddess of the sun Elel and her powers, including bolstering its bearer's spellcasting capabilities. It has long been seen as a legendary relic within the Church of Elel, and has been coveted by the most zealous of followers, particularly the Sun Elves of Erudor. It is currently held in the capital of the Verum Sol, within the White Desert for all to revere.

Significance

Although there are other sunstones, there is only one Sunstone of Elel, specifically blessed by the divine. Others may have value as a gem and generate light, but the primary artifact is the only one able to empower its holder with divine magic. Because of its singularity, every facet has been studied and can be identified when in comparison to other similar stones.
As the sunstone blessed by Elel, the significance of such an artifact does many things for the church and for the sun elves of Erudor. It creates a sense of unity of which many can follow, and creates a need to protect such a valuable item, utilizing it to foster idolatry. Its bearer is imbued with high powered divine magic, allowing the champion to defeat their enemies. Therefore, he who has been chosen to bear the Sunstone of Elel is worshipped as a demigod of sorts, one who speaks and acts in the voice of the divine. When a bearer dies, the next to bear the majesty of the sunstone is selected amongst Elel's chosen, typically a long and rigorous process.
