Culture and cultural heritage

Due to its location between Cespion, Vecyra and Tusnya, the predominant culture of the region acts as a conflation of the three. Those located in the western reaches of the region tend to have a more civilized, Cespion influences creating a more rigid and lawful environment. However, as the further east one travels, the more boorish the people become, deviating from the civilized and established cities. Fewer towns and villages appear in the east, and disappear all together in the Scorched Badlands. It is here that Urugeri culture derives its roots, as a nomadic and savage people, untamed by government and laws and subject only to their local codes and traditions. The difference between the western Urugeri, known as the Hugel, and the eastern Urugeri, known as the Versengt, is stark at times.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

As the Corinian Empire claimed much of the west as their own, the Hugel of Uruger adopted many of the same customs of Cespion and Vecyra dating back to the ancient traditions of Corin itself. Structures like temples and castles began to be constructed, making way for walled towns. Governance in the Corinian style with some even vying for representation in Lucinia.   In the east, the Versengt abandon any connection to the Corinian Empire and retraced its roots to the nomadic style of their ancestors. They returned to the worship of the primordial gods, of the elements like fire and earth. Traditions like pyre festivals filled with dancing and chanting became common place. The Versengt rarely called one place home, although there are still some well defended settlements like Bael.
