Maahes
The Dancer
Maahes is the god of art, madness, and battle. He is known to be unpredictable and chaotic, acting according to his own whims and passions.
Unlike the other Gods of the River Kingdoms, Maahes has no canonical representation; he takes whatever form suits him at the time, and changes to a new shape as his mood shifts.
Divine Domains
Maahes governs instinct, inspiration, and chaos. He is worshipped in different ways by different people: pit fighters and warriors, including the Patrian Legion Auxiliaries, pray to him for courage and instinct in battle, while philosophers and artists of various kinds look to him for inspiration.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Like their deity, Maahes' priests tend to be free thinkers with no particular goals or priorities. Some of the Dancer's priests are warriors, some are sculptors or orators, and some are literal dancers.
Maahes, more than his fellow gods, tends to inspire cults of violence or chaos. The Cinders sought to create destruction and chaos in Modica, and the cult in which Cymone grew up had similar goals.
