Conjure Celestial
7th Level Conjuration
Casting Time: 1 minute (sometimes longer).
Range: 90ft.
Duration: Concentration up to 1 hour.
Components: V, S, M (for creatures who are not at least Friendly toward you, an inward magic circle along with an appropriate lure is required. Lures range from the creature's true name spoken thrice, to an offer of a mortal's soul, to simply allowing passage to the material plane).
Classes: Cleric. You attempt to call a Celestial to you, either by trickery or by means of an existing relationship. If you are successful, the creature appears at the designated location. Once called, the Celestial is bound to the material plane until the spell ends. This spell does not necessarily force them to act in a friendly way toward you, and creatures who do not like you might require a bargain, ignore you completely, or try to kill you. If you call the creature using a lure and a magic circle to trap them, you must then force them into service. If the creature is not hostile to you, then you may be able to simply bargain with the creature. Bargains made in this way are magical bonds. Not even a Wish spell can outright remove them, though it may reveal a way to break the bargain. Needless to say, breaking one of these bargains is a sure way to infuriate the creature you bargained with. If the creature is hostile to you or otherwise wants to escape, you must overpower it in a Skill Challenge in order to gain control of it.
The loser of each round loses 2 Hit Dice. On a tie, both you and the target lose 1 Hit Die. If the target is reduced to 0 Hit Dice, then they are forced under your control. They become friendly to you for the duration of your Concentration and you have Advantage on future attempts to subjugate them in this way. If you are reduced to 0 Hit Dice, you fall unconscious for 1 round, the circle breaks, and the creature is free to do as it wishes and does not automatically return to its home plane when the spell ends.
