Cultivate growth in others.

Clerical Tenets

Never refuse healing to those who need it.
Do not go against the cycle of nature.
End those who go against the cycle of nature.
Free those whose change is abstructed.
Do not hoard that which you own, but give it freely to those in greater need than you.
Do not by magic alter another mortal's soul.

Burial Rites

The body is given an oar and released into a flowing body of water that is not the water source for a settlement. If such a river is not available, then the body is buried just beneath the surface and a plant of some kind planted in it.   The first represents sending the soul down the River of Death with an oar that they may find their way to Gwynn-Morrow's side. The second represents the continuation of the soul's journey as it and its essence is reabsorbed into the natural world to be reused.

Notable Ceremonies and Holidays

Unlike many other religions, the Ever Changing Stream is a deeply personalized religion. Its festivals focus less on great events of the past and more on celebrating personal milestones within the community.
  • Marriage: marriage is seen by priests of the Ever Changing Stream as a great change bringing about greater change. By changing the trajectory of both husband and wife, the link between the two causes them to orbit each other within the Stream, triggering ripples around them as they flow downstream. The ceremony itself is as varied as the cultures of Aedeva.
  • Festival of Seasons: there is a religious festival for each of the four seasons, taking place on the solstices and equinoxes. While the exact celebrations differ from area to area, most involve acts of generosity to the needy in the area.
  • The First Great Change: the birthing of a child is a great event within the Ever Changing Stream, accompanied by a great party that starts with the first labor pains and ends with the child's birth and naming. It is not uncommon for a much smaller version of this party to be held in celebration of the birth of an animal, though such parties usually constitute little more than a particularly lively supper with friends.
  • The Final Great Change: when a follower of the Ever Changing Stream dies, there is a solemn but joyful festival celebrating the completion of their journey.
  • Paladin Oath
