Wyld Plane
A plane of lush wilderness and strange sylvan creatures, the Wyld Plane is a place of instinct and curiosity. As one of the
Reflection Planesthat make up the metaphysical essence of the Material Plane, the Wyld overlaps with the Material wherever there is intrigue or uncivilization, and is shaped by them.
Most scholars agree that the Wyld is, in many ways, a reflection of the combined instinct and ferality of the Material Plane. This explains the existence of the Fae and the courts of Faerie deep within the Wyld.
Navigation
Attempts to navigate the Wyld are entirely pointless. In fact, a traveler is much more likely to find their destination by accedental wandering than by any concerted attempt to find their way. That said, creatures with strong wills can often bend the Wyld around them, allowing them to reach their destination eventually.Notable Locations
Gebierhtan, home of the Geárian Fae
Also known as the Spring Court by some, Gebierhtan can be found by walking far Dayward of the Material Plane or, more commonly, by getting lost on the Dayward edges of the material plane. This court is home to the most pleasant of fairy folk such as fauns, pixies, dryads, and the like. Mortals are more welcome here than in most regions of the Wyld, and indeed, more than most of the Reflection Planes, primarily because the Geárian fey find them fascinating. This is not to say that Gebierhtan is safe for mortals, however. A traveler can succumb as easily to the magical whims of a passing fey as they can to a sudden bout of anger at some perceived sleight.Border Realms
Material - The Wylderness
The Wyld plane intersects with the Material wherever there is wilderness or reckless abandon. The border between the two planes looks markedly similar to the Material Plane, but overgrown by vibrant wildlife. Where there are towns in the Material, there are overgrown ruins in the Wyld.Shadow - The Unfinished
Where Wyld meets Shadow, the sky gets a bit brighter, a bit more vibrant. Darkness gives way to expectant quiet. Cities give way to ghost towns, abandoned before they were ever completed. Roads in the Unfinished lead to nowhere as often as to somewhere, but the atmosphere no longer drains the life from those within.Lightning - Gardens of Blik
The planar borders between the Wyld and Lightning were claimed in times long past by a powerful summer fae called Blik. His gardens fill the land. It is said that he plants seeds of lightning and tends them to grow plants the likes of which no mortal has seen. When fully grown, the plants release lightning into the sky, which strikes down to spread its seed. Blik is known to love tresspassors, and can easily spend a mortal lifetime explaining each strain of each plant that he has cultivated over his immortal life.Air - Windblown Canopies
The border between the Wyld and Air planes occurs in the highest canopies of the tallest trees in the Wyld, where the wind never ceases to rustle the leaves. One of the easiest paths to the Plane of Air includes riding one of the Wyld's great tree leaves into this wind and letting it carry you to the Plane of Air.Dust - Forgotten Dunes
Where the Wyld and Dust planes collide stands a region of massive sand dunes. Though the dunes are not particularly hot, they shimmer and shift with heat haze. Entire dunes can appear or disappear as the mirages shift and play on the sand's surface. It is thought that the mirages echo the forgotten hopes and dreams of mortal kind, or the remnants of souls who got stuck in the Dust plane on their way to Stellaria.Earth - Glowing Gardens
The Fungal gardens occur where Earth and Wyld meet. The Fungal Gardens are a disorganized network of naturally formed tunnels teeming with all manner of fungus and other undreground life. Most of the flora within the Gardens is bioluminescent, creating beautiful underground vistas of twinkling lights. A beautiful sight for those who can survive the spores long enough to enjoy it.
