Land of the Sun, ruled by Cir himself for the last 3811 years. Cireth is ruled by the Priesthood of the Faith of the Burning Crown, with each branch presiding primarily over their own duchy. Though the empire presents a united front to outsiders, there is little unity between duchies. Dukes martial armies to settle border disputes and petty squabbles. Lawbringers roam the lands, razing towns at the slightest hint of dark magic. Monsters haunt the border towns, attacking farms and undefended caravans. In darkened alleyways commonfolk whisper of rebellion; of overthrowing the dukes and duchesses of Cireth and ruling themselves. These rebellions rarely last past dawn. Of the few that do, the lucky find a quick and thorough death at the hands of the local priesthood, and the unlucky find themselves hung and burned alongside their friends, family, and home by the Lawbringers. For the few rebellions that survive even this, Cir himself has been known to appear. These events are rare, with only two known occurrences since the empire's foundation. There is no record of what happened after Cir's arrival, as priests are forbidden from recording the event, and those few who are left alive refuse to speak of it. Despite the wars and fighting, life within the empire is good for those lucky enough to live away from duchy borders. As such a large land, Cireth is home to a wide variety of climates and species. Their open borders facilitate vast amount of trade. The trading route known as the Golden Route acts as an economic equator. Despite Cirethian laws opposing slavery, a booming slave trade along the Golden Route, driven by Union Bridge Snatchers, has given rise to the route's recent name: Bloodgold Road. Nonetheless, life and commerce continues to grow along the route, and an abundance of trade caravans makes plenty work for adventurers of all walks of life.
