Catastrophe
Origins and Before the Spill
When Aegea was created, three entities were brought into being: Harmony, Catastrophe, and the Nullifier. Catastrophe existed as the bane of Harmony, and vice versa. In the times before the various races were introduced to Aegea, Harmony and Catastrophe were best friends, even working together to create the Pantheon of Balance.
After thousands of years of peace, the Nullifier created the Sword of the Void, a weapon strong enough to destroy Celestials. As both Harmony and Catastrophe desired the power to destroy one another and take control of Aegea, a rift was created, causing the Spill.
Ballrooms and Dragons
As part of his plan to take over, Catastrophe enlisted the help of Gregory, a criminal mastermind, to manage his following. Upon Gregory's resistance to some of Catastrophe's methods, Catastrophe drove the tortured soul to kill nearly everyone in his polycule, leaving one to take the fall.
In another plot by Catastrophe, an ancient factory was restored in order to create a dark army of golems. After preventing this project from going further, the party defeated Gregory, warranting a direct interference. Catastrophe appeared to the party, threatening their life, but was quickly deterred by Harmony, who put the factory permanently out of commission and destroyed nearly all of the essence runes. Catastrophe fled, vowing to destroy the party.
