History

The city of Kairau was once the capital of Groinsmirth before the House of Mari gave land to Londe, and Honevrast, expanding their countries and giving them greater reach across Delesia, and moving the country's capital to a more central location of Arazar.

Kairau started as a farming community, located right next to the Misty River.

A minor farming community Kairu didn't really turn into a bustling city until the arrival of Captain Mari on the Little Dragown, and her fleet of ships comming from the ruined city of Passen. Watching the ships come up the river was a sight to behold with the Great Dragon Breghiss flying over head. Some say that Breghiss lead Captain Elieni Mari and her ships to Kairu, guided by Fate himself, others say that it was by chance, and they were trying to arrive more West, however the Blue Beck was impassable, even to Breghiss's mighty breath, sending the refugee's East.

Industry

The city has become one of Groinsmirth's trade centers, specializing in textiles made from remenaints of their harvested Chia, Farro, and Buckwheat.

Government

Leadership of the city has changed in the last 500 years of the city's existance. The city is now led by an elected council, each person serving a term of no more then 10 years. The City Watch is lead by Sergeant Lars Morris, who has barely enough men to man the gates and watchtowers in shifts.

We're grateful that the city lies in a dragon's territory. No one tends to bother us from the North, or East, and those that would try from the South-west are often seen on their way towards the city.
