Where the Vampires Roam

The Onyx Vale has been home to Vampires since the founding of the Realm - the vampiric society has played a pivotal role in both the defence, and the segregation, of the Onyx Vale.

The Vampiric Order

The inward society of Vampires within Aegir is known as "The Vampiric Order" - headed by the Grand Count; Julien Wolfram. The Order is based within the Onyx Vale, but stretches to within the Shadowfell thanks to the Vale's easy access to other realms.

The Grand Count

Julien Wolfram, the eldest of the vampires by some thousands of years, was present for the founding of the Onyx Vale and sits on the Veiled Council to represent the Vampiric Race. The Grand Count rules a large town within the Shadowfell, living in a grand mansion that overwatches his domain.

The Grand Counts benevolent reign has seen vampiric society thrive within the Vale under his orderly leadership, though it has not been without it's trials. Many Elder Vampires have sought to dethrone the Grand Count from his position - and although the usually calm demenor of the Grand Count can project an air of weakness, it hides his true ferocity.

Of all the attempts made on his un-life, none have been successful, and the Grand Count's rule is still absolute.

The Elders

The Elders are a number of ancient vampires that carry out the will of the Grand Count. Acting as pseudo-leaders to different covens around the Vale, they mostly all reside within the material plane - bar a few that hold land within the Shadowfell.

The Elders are generally greatly respected figures in regular society, especially so in Vampiric society. However, some choose to isolate themselves within great castles, cave complexes and manors - and usually their sanity (and social grace) have diminished greatly as a result.

• Helena Musette

Medium Age Vampires

A number of medium age vampires live and work within the Onyx Vale seemlessly blending into society. Though a few of these middling vampires choose to set up covens of their own.

Some middling vampires include:

• Morogan Viktoria - a Covern leader within the Vale
• Duncan Creighton - A bartender
• Florin Ingram - A guard within Volglow - the Capital of The Onyx Vale

The Fledglings

A vampire is considered a fledgling until it reaches 500 years old. Typically, fledglings stick around in groups and typically attach themselves to older, more experienced vampires both for safety, and to learn.

Most fledglings can be found within Covern Colonies across the Vale, though a few small fledgling families can usually be found outside of Coverns - typically watched over by a Middling vampire that tends to the communities needs.
