Dwarf

Dwarves were orginally a subsidiary race to the giants, created to serve (kind of like gnomes from Trollhunters) fix giant machinery etc Maybe the origin story of dwarves is they grew from the stone Maybe when dwarves Die they turn to stone and then shatter. This makes them immune to the effects of undeath as they cannot be resurrected through necromancy.   The statues in dwarven halls of ancestors are actually the calcified bodies of dwarven ancestors Maybe this is partial origins of anvil of the void, to call the souls back from the afterlife to fight once more. Dwarven experiments in undeath Worhsip venerated ancestors known as paragons   dwarves uplifted by gian   Giants originally amused by these puny creatures, but they found a use for them   Some dwarves wanted to spread rock rot plague, believing they were becoming living ancestors as they were turning into stone while still alive.

Basic Information

Dietary Needs and Habits

Dwarves have a reputation for good alcohol. This is because it is hard to find fresh water underground, so they ferment mushrooms and underground plants to make beer. This beer is the main thing they drink, the equivalent of water. Most of it does not get you drunk as it has low alcohol content, but it tastes very good.

Behaviour

Dwarves are afraid of open spaces. underground dwarves connect their houses with tunnels, and the most open space that one can find is the marketplace that larger cities have. This is a large dwarf made cavern where many dwarves set up shops. Other than that dwarven cities are usually just houses connected by a series of tunnels. These tunnels are usually heavily enforced by metal.   Mooles. Giant moles, they are incredibly strong. They are used like horses or cows depending on subspecies.   Screechers. popular pets and familiars. A species of bat adapted to living underground. They are very well domesticated, being much like dogs. Traditionally they are used to herd mooles as well as guard houses. They sort of resemble burrowing owls, but instead they are bats.   Silkers. Spiders. Take the place of sheep and goats. They are milked for venom (from teeth), but primarily dwarves make clothing out of their silk.
