Human
The origin of humanity, and even their time of arrival in Aelburn is unknown. Some theorize that humans arrived from another multiverse entirely, with some legends stating that they 'fell out of the sky in strange seeds of metal'. Others claim that humanity is an offshoot of elves and dwarves, having the lankiness and agility of elves with the stocky brawniness of a dwarf. Many critics of this theory would point out ,however, that elves and dwarves are unable to reproduce together without the aid of magick. Regardless of their origins, humans seem to have appeared sometime during the Age of Silence. Due to this era's relative lack of a historical record, not much else is known about humanity's early history in Aelburn. During the next several Era's, humanity swiftly rose in power and spread throughout Aelburn; pushing the Elves out of their traditionally held territory during the Age of Giants. This swift rise to power was crushed during the Age of Dragon's as even the mightiest human kingdoms fell under the heel of Dragons and their newly created supersoldiers, the Drakani.
Humanity was soon enslaved by the dragons, the scaled beasts using the once mighty buildings constructed by humanity as a mocking throne and example of their power. Eventually Humanity put aside its grudges and an alliance of several races, headed by Saint Azalea, defeated the dragon known as Yulgotorix; bringing an end to the Age of Dragons. Though humanity had lost much of its previous power and prestige, the past thousand years of relative peace has allowed humanity to begin to flourish once more. They are now the most populous and powerful, yet most divided, race to currently inhabit Aelburn.
