Paladin of Kethos

Alternate Paladin Class for Worshipers of Kethos

A paladin who serves the god Kethos.   These paladins will have the following adjustments to the standard paladin class features:

Aura of Law (Ex)

Replaces Aura of Good The power of a paladin of Kethos' aura of law (see the detect law spell) is equal to their character level. The power of their aura of law is equal to their character level +4.  

Detect Chaos (Sp)

Replaces Detect Evil As per Detect Evil, but instead uses the Detect Chaos as per the spell.  

Smite Chaos (Su)

Replaces Smite Evil As per Smite Evil, but against chaotic creatures.  

Divine Grace (Su)

Lay On Hands (Su)

As per the normal paladin Lay On Hands ability, but when used on followers of Kethos, the benefit is 1d8 per every two paladin levels instead of 1d6.  

Aura of Law (Su)

Replaces Aura of Courage The paladin of Kethos and each ally within 10 feet of them gains a +1 untyped bonus to AC vs chaotic creatures. This ability only functions while the paladin of Kethos is conscious.

Radiance of Law (Su)

Replaces Channel Positive Energy When a paladin of Kethos reaches 4th level, they gain the supernatural ability to emit a burst of lawful energies. Using this ability consumes two uses of their lay on hands ability. Chaotic creatures (including allies) within 30' must make a Will save (DC 10 + paladin's level + Wisdom bonus) or suffer a -2 penalty to all attack and saving throw rolls for a number of rounds equal to the paladin's level.   At 8th level, the paladin can select up to 3 creatures to be excluded from the burst and the penalty for a failed saving throw becomes -4.   At 12th level, the paladin can exclude any creatures they choose and the penalty for a failed saving throw becomes -6.

Adjusted as follows: This uses the Smite Chaos ability, and not Smite Evil.  

Aura of Faith (Su)

Adjusted as follows: Instead of good aligned, the weapon is treated as lawful-aligned for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction.  

Aura of Righteousness (Su)

Adjusted as follows: Instead of DR 5/evil, a paladin of Kethos receives DR 5/chaos.  

Holy Champion (Su)

Adjusted as follows: The DR becomes DR 10/chaos. In addition, the banishment applies to using the smite chaos ability against chaotic outsiders.
