Our Sister of Death Estrea (a.k.a. The Shepherd)
Description
Estrea is the Goddess of Death, and one of the Seven Sisters. She is also the Goddess of decay, pestilence, and entropy. Her followers tend to be of Lawful Neutral or Lawful Evil alignment. Lys' followers often see Estrea as the embodiment of evil, as she is responsible for tending to souls in the afterlife and is the cause of death, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Estrea is a kind, gentle goddess who treats souls in the afterlife tenderly, like a mother. She comforts those who have died and brings them to their final rest. Estrea herself is not evil, but her followers sometimes are, as Estrea is not well understood because Lys' followers demonize her.
True followers perform funeral services and it is customary to burn the dead on a funeral pyre. Some of Lys' followers see this as an affront and insist on burials. Pretenders who do not understand Estrea often follow and murder in her name, seeing death as an offering to her, but Estrea hates this and will often work with Lys to quest her followers to hunt these radicals down.
Estrea is the patron goddess of the Goliaths.

Estrea has a very close bond to her sister, Lys. They are a pair, and both see death as the natural progression of life, and neither can exist without the other. Lys followers are often at odds with Estrea, but the two sisters love each other.

Customs
Followers of Estrea tend to honor the dead and perform funeral services by way of funerary pyres. On the annual anniversary of a loved one's death, many people make offerings to Estrea to pray for their loved one's souls and ask for Estrea to care for them.
