Petrasteel
Petrasteel is a strange metal found only deep beneath the mountains of Gothir. Scholars find it impossible to agree over whether the material is a metal or a mineral, as it has the appearance of granite, but has properties of steel. It appears to be a fusion of the two materials. It is a plentiful material, but is extraordinarily difficult to work with, owing to its unique magical property of being resistant to shock and vibrations. Even when heated over Shadowflame Coal, it is very difficult to shape. However, armor made of Petrasteel can be much thinner than armor made of steel due to its resistance. Creating armor or other equipment from Petrasteel is a laborious process, so armor made from Petrasteel is disproportionately expensive compared to buying the raw material. It is scarce due to many mining companies not wanting to bother with the effort required to harvest it.
Because of its unique property of shock absorption, it also absorbs sound, so despite how heavy the material is, if you were to create a sole for a pair of boots out of it, it would dampen much of the sound created as you walk, effectively making you quieter. Additionally, it is incredibly resilient to damage from bludgeoning weapons and spells that produce thunder. It can also be enchanted to store the shock absorbed from spells and attacks to repurpose it. Some soldiers wearing armor made of Petrasteel will enchant their boots to transfer the shock energy accumulated by the other pieces of their armor so they can release it by stomping on the ground, producing a shockwave to knock their enemies to the ground.
