Reshyk
Description
Reshyk is a large icy continent almost entirely populated by a xenophobic race of Dwarves. All travel to Reshyk is strictly prohibited, with the exception of the city of Greentide. This city serves as their trade hub, and foreigners are kept to the confines of its walls.
Dwarven architecture tends to be hidden underground, and structures that are above ground are similar to what is seen in Arak.
Reshyk is a semi-constitutional monarchy, ruled by King Rangrim Felbor. The exception to his rule is the offshore territory known as The Ashlands, the home of the Ashenfolk, who are ruled by King Thorfin Hardak in an absolute monarchy.
History
Reshyk has been closed to outsiders for more than half a millennia, and none outside the frozen continent know the reason. However, based on the Dwarves' wondrous understanding of magic and some of the complex enchanted items that can be found in Greentide, some suspect they are hiding something.
The Dwarves of Reshyk are master artificers and have created many wonders the outside world has never seen, including airships, weaponry, and metal golems imbued with the spirits of their ancestors. This technology is known as Runetech No army dares to challenge them, as their military might is unmatched. The Dwarves have been asked for assistance with the The Spellscar Crusade, but have not sent any of their advanced weaponry. The level of advancement on Reshyk is compareable to that of Earth during the industrial period, but with a magical flair.
Reshyk also has a highly progressive society, the most progressive on Aellorah.
Major Events
Lysten 1, 448 RE - Reshyk closes their borders to foreigners, allowing visitors only in the trade city of Greentide.
Customs
The Dwarves of Reshyk are highly xenophobic, for mostly unknown reasons. Greentide is the one city foreigners are permitted to enter, and they are kept confined to its walls, where they may trade.
