Katmas

A winter holiday named after the Goddess Katia. Every year on the 25th of Ubrol, denizens the world over come together and celebrate, spreading love and joy throughout their communities.

History

It is said that long ago, 7 heroes came together in Klaus the Kindhearted's most dire moment.   His train, the Astral Express, had been hijacked by the evil Gingerdead man. Klaus summoned heroes from all over to defend the world from the monster. Blitz the elf, Noelle the fairy, Retsuko the raccoon, Hunt Gooberstain the nice scientist, Charles Brown the cowardly and his companion Snoop, Clarkson the first ghost buster, and even Klaus's own chainmail from his armory. Together this group of misfit strangers, along with a bit of quick help from Olive (the other reindeer), were able to fend off the Gingerdead army and the corrupted beings aboard the Astral Express. They rescued Klaus' elves, and then Klaus himself from certain death.   Though it is never said what became of the Gingerdead man, he has never been seen since that fateful day.   Legend has it that the holiday of Katmas was born from this heroic victory over the Gingerdead man. Klaus the Kindhearted, filled with gratitude for the bravery of his new friends, invited them to his home in the North Pole to celebrate the winter solstice. It was there that the group decided to create a holiday that would bring people together in the spirit of kindness and generosity, just as they had come together to save Klaus and defeat the Gingerdead man.   Blitz the elf suggested that they should bake gingerbread men to represent the evil forces they had overcome, and then smash them as a symbol of their victory. Noelle the fairy proposed that they decorate a tree in Klaus's house to symbolize their friendship and the new beginnings of the winter season. Retsuko the raccoon suggested that they exchange gifts as a way of expressing their gratitude and appreciation for each other. Hunt Gooberstain the nice scientist proposed that they bake a new dessert using the smashed gingerbread men. Charles Brown and Snoop added their own ideas, and together they created the traditions that would become the foundation of the new holiday.   Over the years, the holiday of Katmas spread throughout the land, becoming a symbol of hope, friendship, and unity. People of all backgrounds and beliefs came together to celebrate and exchange gifts, smashing gingerbread men as a way of symbolizing their triumph over evil. The holiday also became known for Klaus the Kindhearted's generosity, as he continued to travel the world, delivering gifts to children and spreading joy wherever he went.   And so, the holiday of Katmas lives on, a reminder of the power of friendship, kindness, and the triumph of good over evil.

Execution

On Katmas, Klaus the Kindhearted travels around the world on the Astral Express, spreading joy and delivering presents to all the good boys and girls. The Astral Express is a magical train that runs on pure holiday magic, and it's said that only those with pure hearts can see it.   In larger towns or cities, officials will bake large gingerbread men the night before and place them around town. The next day, children will run outside and see who can smash the most with red and white painted wooden "swords." In smaller towns, families typically bake normal-sized gingerbread men cookies and then smash them together. Of course, the smashed bits aren't wasted. They are used as a crust for a different dessert baked later on.   Every home erects a great tree inside their home which they decorate together. Gifts meant for each other are placed underneath the tree the night before, and then opened the next morning. The tradition of the tree was started when Klaus first rode the Astral Express around the world, and the children of a small town he visited decorated a tree with things they had found in the forest.   Klaus himself is said to wear a red and white suit and a hat with a pom-pom on top, and he has a long white beard. He is always accompanied by a group of elves who help him deliver presents and spread joy. Once the gingerbread smashing festivities have ended, parents quickly send their children to bed, and Klaus the Kindhearted delivers presents to all the good boys and girls. It's said that if you're ever lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Astral Express, you'll be blessed with good fortune for the rest of the year.     Once the gingerbread smashing festivities have ended, parents quickly send their children to bed and await Klaus the Kindhearted to deliver presents to all the good boys and girls.
