Basic Information

Anatomy

Draconates are humanoid dragons, sharing a variety of draconic features, such as scales on the body, leathery skin, large, muscular bodies, and the ability to use a blast weapon, thanks to their draconic lineage. Like dragons, draconates appear in various shades, classified as metallic or chromatic, which generally reflect their ancestry. The most common metallic shades are gold, silver, brass, copper and bronze, while the most commonly seen shades are red, green, blue, white and black. Some draconates, though rare, can further perfect the potential of their dragonic ancestry, even developing wings and being able to fly, like a dragon. Their leather skin features some scales, which usually in more exposed regions such as hands and forearms, feet and legs, shoulders and the upper part of the head. His feet are large, with three front claws and a fourth behind, like a heel. His hands are strong, also with three claws and a fourth as a thumb. The head of a draconate has a prominent snout, with reptilian nostrils and a large mouth. In addition, it is possible to observe some scaly formations that resemble the spines, or even bony formations, like horns, that lightly remember by the facials or hair. Reptilian eyes usually range from yellow, red, green, and blue. Like dragons, dragons are constantly confused as reptiles, but they are endothermic creatures. Although there is variation, depending on dragon ancestry, the normal body temperature of a dragon is warmer than that of most breeds. A red or gold dragon, for example, has internal temperatures close to 124º F (42º C, 315 K), while a blue or silver dragon has an average of 104º F (37º C, 311 K).

Civilization and Culture

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Draconates are known to value honor above all else, even above their own lives. For this race, all creatures are worthy of being respected, even the most hated enemy. Before draconates themselves, cowardice and dishonor, rather than undesirable sins, are considered repulsive conditions, capable of justifying the banishment of an individual from his clan at any time, followed by a bad reputation among the draconates who will follow him until be able to reestablish his honor. Because of this desire to maintain and earn their honor, it is common to observe attitudes that encourage personal improvement in the draconates. Valuing individual effort and skill, the Draconians are constantly finding ways to prove their worth, to others and to themselves. Failure, however, is a heavy burden for this species, and can lead a draconian to do extreme, unhealthy actions to compensate for or redress mistakes, and regain the respect he deserves. However, even though most draconians use this stimulus and value for good, some end up falling in the ambition of becoming better, and often follow doomed paths to evilness because of it. Although some may find this arrogant thought, or consider the Draconians as a proud race, this is a distorted view. Although they are proud of their deeds, the Draconians admire and always exalt the great deeds of their companions, and even of their enemies, showing respect and value. A draconate never deprives himself of enjoying what he is experiencing, be it anger, sadness, or joy. Much less, it tries to mask these feelings of those around you, allowing yourself to live every moment to the extreme. They usually have a positive outlook on life, and even their shortcomings, which can generate a few brief moments of sadness and bitterness, soon turn into fuel for further improvement. They are usually direct in all matters, and do not hesitate to say when they need to withdraw to train and improve their skills. Likewise, they are great supporters, always motivating their teammates to improve regardless of success or failure. Although they value the clan above all, the draconates value independence and self-worth. They believe that the success of the group depends on the individual success of each member, and so they strive to give their best whenever it is necessary. Individuality, as seen by this race, does not mean to move away from the society in which it is inserted, but rather to form it in the best way, with the union of individual strengths and weaknesses. This encourages a sense of collectivity where everyone sees their role and strives to fulfill it, as well as helping those who need help to develop.
