Personal history
A son of the Aleuai and the Eutunaz, last of the children of the sun and the stone, Lorat was of the noblest line of the Aleuai, from the cusp of Hemalla the sun maiden and her second husband Seikr of the tearful line of Aurelmir. His sisters were Erailna, the lunar maiden, and Irea the shaker of the world, sea weaver, and mother of heroes. Yet there was one too who was among them not from Seikr their father but from Hast, the first husband of their mother Hemalla and this was Armaretzen or as he came to be known, Timur.
Hailed greatly was Lord Lorat in the old days, beloved and esteemed in many things, he was the most skilled of the Aleuai in merrymaking, harvesting, storytelling, and diplomacy. He traveled a great expanse, and it is said he was the first to traverse to each of the four great corners of the world upon his steed Eolmet, sire of horses and swiftest to have ever trod the hard earth. For it was by his example that Weda began to stride across the land, and by his word did Weda learn of many things beyond the enchanting sea. He took to the sands in the far south, where the sun shines hard upon the land and its people. He glided across the dunes and was a great friend of sand snakes and dune men who came to dwell there amid their pack animals who relished in the small oasis' Lord Lorat gave to them. In the east, he was the great sky father, though he had no sky of his own to claim, for he traversed the wide plain with such great speed he was named Eignin Khuddus, "The Plain Flyer" and once more, he watched over and made friends and companions among the grass riders of that place east of Buranden and the Mountains of Terror.
From sand and mud, he gave Men bread and water and they adored him for this and many other gifts of alchemy and magic that became renowned for being the work of Lord Lorat the giving, the benevolent, and the loved. For in the manner of Weda, his king and kinsman, he traveled the wide world in search of many things not freely given to the lords of the world, experience. For Lorat's way was of the dusty trail not often trod, and the hard saddle and the hard rain. He took special care of each suffering during the long war between Men and the Eutuns. For Lorat's heart was with the suffering of men, but his nature itself was entwined with that of the giants and he ever wished to calm their fury and smother their warlust. Many visits did he made to the doomed halls of both nations and implored a cessation of bloodshed, but his calls for peace would not open the ears of the fearful and his overtures were not heeded.
Wide was his walk in days of peace, and firm it was in times of war. For where others had the leisure of mastering battle, Lorat reviled it with all his heart and mind, but upon its coming, he was ferocious and a lord of frenzy and fright. For among the rank of the Aleuai he alone was master of the war dogs of the Eutuns, for upon the first battle made between the gods and the giants, few alone among them knew of the manner of these creatures who came along and fought beside the Eutunaz. For when the first cry of Frannsach, the royal silver dragon of King Voldugr was heard, fear followed.
But steel-hearted Lorat did not waiver and he came before the great piercer with intentions to enchain the great beast. And a roar was heard from Frannsach and a tumult of fire erupted from the warbeast, but once more Lorat stood unmoved, fierce in gaze he moved as swift as the most ferocious wind. In mere moments Lord Lorat came atop the head of the beast, chaining it with a bridle of clear iron and clutching it by the neck, wrestled it to the ground by the strength of his grip. Slammed hard into the earth was the beast, and once more it raised itself to try and smite him, but his grip was hard, and he closed shut the maw of the dragon, and no more did it spit fire upon him. So he claimed this as his prize, one of the three greatest dragons to have ever walked the earth, stolen from the prized stable of Voldugr king of the Eutuns who never let his ire of the god simmer. Lorat's deed was retold in the hall of Aeluala every year upon the coming of the day, and since he has been called Lorat Dragontamer and Dragonlord.
But of all glories, most known of Lord Lorat is the tragedy of his death, his doom, and the betrayal of one he had deemed reconciled with him. For Armaretzen was not of a similar mind to Lorat, he held a mind for conflict and advancement, his greed, his envy, and his lust for power and acclaim were great indeed, and by an unknown way, a thought was upon his mind to raise and gain the seat of power he had dreamed of. Yet Lorat and his kinsman Marinen held suspicions for Armaretzen and when he returned to Ederice after a long exile, neither Lorat nor Marinen greeted him upon his arrival. When Timur had become known to be plotting amidst those in Ederice, Lorat had little patience left and confronted his brother and bid him explain his enmity for his family. But to his shock, it seemed words had indeed swayed the iron heart of Timur and it seemed the two had reconciled. As feasting was made in Aeluala, Timur arose and lifted his chalice to Lorat his lord-brother, and all the choirs and hosts of Aeluala and Ederice arose and hailed him as Lorat Peacemaker, Hemallassen, and to his long life. But hidden rage was upon the mind of Timur, for after this, in the garden of their mother, Timur showed his beastly nature and when his guard was lowest, Lorat Dragonlord, Lorat Dunestepper, Lorat Lord of the Plains met his treacherous end, before the eyes of his very mother who now lost two sons.
First of the Aleuai to die, first to meet an end by the blade of a brother, Lord Lorat rests amid the stars now. His death broke the family of the Aleuai, his mother now weeps upon every visit to Aeluala, Erailna, and Irea retreated to the moons and the sea, Marinen joined him in death and became the second and last of the gods to meet an end. Everywhere one looks, the blood of Lorat shed has shaken, Weda alone has kept the decay at bay, but sooner and sooner, many now see that the twilight of the gods is coming and approaching with greater speed. Far away, in the dark chasm of Vukalin, Timur remains enchained in the mists of that realm. Every day the torture of memory plagues him, every day he is given to fear and remorse, or so it would be if Timur had regret in his heart. For ambition's burn still crackles within him, and every day he yearns not for redemption but revenge, every day his soul is seared and blazes to finish the mission he began so long ago and to bring about the means he desires.
But now far away, Lord Lorat has gone, the winds still whisper his name, draigs fly far but now know no master, war seeps into the soil of the land and drives those upon it madness. The people cry out for peace, but their lord is now too far to answer. That which plagues the word is driven forward upon the fact that the good Lord Lorat now rests eternally in the blanket of night, a cradle to dead gods doomed to nothingness as the world speeds to ruination.
