Fashioned beneath the world tree, the 1st generation of the gods was born, Ranir, Noba, and Rymr each was given domains to rule from. Rymr was given the sky, Noba the subsurface, and Ranir, the surface of the world. Ranir was made their leader due to his elder status and due to his wisdom and understanding.

Following the birth and then death of Aurelmir, Nila desired a creation to compete with that of her brother and so fashioned a new race of mortals in the likeness of herself. beneath the tree, she toiled before finally, she created Ranir, the first of the gods. After Ranir, the process differed and the result was the 2nd of the gods being stricken with half her face being horribly scarred and mutilated. Finally, the 3rd of the gods was Rymr, strong and mighty from birth and adored immediately by his mother. Being beings of the world tree, the three siblings immediately acknowledged their roles and cast lots for where their domains would be. Each picked the domains known to us today, Noba was given the subsurface and gained her role as steward of the dead, Rymr was given the sky and his role as weather changer and the sun. Ranir, despite being the oldest was seemingly given the unenviable role of the surface, steward of the rivers, oceans, plains, mountains, and everything in between on the new world. Ranir's siblings didn't understand that with Ranir's position came a destiny to create life to rival that of the giants.
