In the beginning there was light, fierce and bright. Filling what for an eternity had contained nothing but void, it was now filled by a calamitous noise and chaos as four great arms of creation burst into existence. At once, as suddenly as it had begun, it ended. The maelstrom lulled, in its place serenity. The formless mist of newly formed particles slowly coalesced and turned into Four beautiful nebula which drifted silently through space. Ages past, years beyond mortal comprehension. Until one day something stirred within each, like the heartbeat of an unborn babe; a slow, steady pulsing could be felt in each nebula. And so it was that the great serpents of creation were born into existence. each as different as the next One for each element of this world. The fire dragon: TA’AN, Water dragon: Gw’liib, earth dragon: Neaer and Air dragon: Dolenith. However unknown to the others, in the formless void from the cradle of creation itself, formed a fifth. The Void dragon: GWA’AG, and the four elements now found themselves drawn into a great orbit about it. The serpents knew nothing of where or why or what, and so set out into the great unknown finding joy in being alive amongst the stars. In time they came to understand the nature of their powers, they found that they could harness elemental power to bring shape and form to the endless mists of time, and so they did. It was in this time that the great void drake GWAAG grew jealous, for he could not form new elements to create worlds and wonders as the others could, he could only do so by containing or reforming the creations of other. for the longest time The four elemental serpents swam through universe bathed in light and marvelling at their own creation, content to forget their unfortunate brother who sat at the cradle of existance. Until one day they found they could stray no further, somehow no matter how hard they tried they could get no further from the centre of creation. They set off together to discover why this was, only to find that the void dragon was gorging itself on the four elemental arms, drawing the great gas clouds into himself, he had grown fat in his greed. He had been biding his time and building his strength. Bitter and twisted by jealousy Gwaag’s eyes were filled with venom. Being born of innocence and free from such fears, his four brothers did not recognise it until it was too late. The great void dragon struck out, seeking to shackle each element so he could gorge himself further, his brothers taken by surprise found they couldn’t escape his irresistible pull, they struggled in vain to escape but realised that it was too late. There was no escape. Realising Gwaag’s betrayal and that he was too strong to be defeated individually. The four brothers combined their strength to stop the void from consuming all of creation, as surely he would, after he had destroyed them. And so… The earth dragon: NEAER entombed GWAAG in a great clay sphere The fire dragon: TA'AN tempered the earth into stone and mountain, The water dragon: Gw’lib Cooled the earth hardening its surface with great oceans. The Air dragon: Dolenith guided their efforts, and fought Gwaag with great bolts of energy to give them time to complete their works. And so, Gwaag was defeated and the earth was born. The great serpents; exhausted after their great battle rested, never to awaken again, but content that they had saved creation. •it is said that Ta’an sleeps in the sun, bathing the earth in light and warmth, most hated by Gwaag •That the oceans most beloved of Gw’lib chase the moon where he sleeps. •A great oak sprouted forth from the sleeping place of Neaer and gave birth to all life •and that Dolinith blanketed the earth, so that life could thrive and carry his guiding words on the wind.
