The Horseman and Sacrifice
You make your way through the hamlet of Lunfort until you come to a tavern, which is called The Horseman and Sacrifice, a huge shabby cob tavern with a grey tiled roof that the locals know best for its magic bedbugs.
The Tavern
The Horseman and Sacrifice is huge; it might have been a town hall or some other public building, but it's now a massive pub, with rows upon rows of tables in the slightly grubby tavern. A decent looking set of armor is mounted to the wall next to the bar. There are basically no people in the tavern, save for a few battle-hardened men talking in the corner.
Behind the counter is who you would assume to be the bartender, a fair skinned wiry human who is currently reading a book. You walk up to the bar, and strike up conversation with the woman, who introduces herself as Amelya Ashdown, the owner of The Horseman and Sacrifice.
Amelya Ashdown looks amused, but seems pleased with the welcome distraction from the patrons, who she tells you are for the most part an honest lot. Amelya pours herself a drink while you talk with the wiry woman about the regular goings on in Lunfort, and The Horseman and Sacrifice, and Amelya says "Well, you can probably guess that business isn't the best right at this moment. Maybe the lack of carrots has something to do with it..."
On offer today... There's the usual house-brewed ale on tap, but it is warm and under carbonated. You suspect that Milo has watered it down. As far as food is concerned, there is the usual mutton and breads available. The house cheese is 7 Copper and is a dark, almost brown cheese which is rubbery, and squeaks rather disconcertingly while you eat it. It smells like a halfling's sweaty foot, and tastes bitter, with the rind tasting somewhere between a burnt log and dead bug, but the taste isn't entirely unpleasant.
Tavern Entertainment
A mime is up on the rickety looking stage pretending to be trapped in a box. Nobody seems to be paying him any attention.
Cross and Pile
A broad and muscular woman with a soft rounded face and quite tall man with a flat, meaty nose sit around a large table, and take turns flipping a coin. As the coin flies mid-air, the broad and muscular human calls out the result, and guesses correctly, grabbing her meager winnings.
"Two players choose each side of a coin, and then the coin is flipped. The top side after flipping the coin is the one that wins. The current bet is 9 Copper."
Interesting things in The Horseman and Sacrifice...
You see a noticeboard next to the tavern's log bar. Walking over to it, you see a number of barter requests nailed to the noticeboard; simple things like 'need help with rat problems'.
Accomodation The Horseman and Sacrifice has 8 available rooms, which are huge and filthy. Because this tavern is priced for poor patrons, it will cost 1 Silver to stay here for the night.
