King Omund

King Omund of Aendrim (a.k.a. The Good King)

The last King of Aendrim, who unified the disparate petty kingdoms of Men for the first time since the fall of the Caelian Empire.
Omund was the son of a minor noble house, descended from Caelian magistrates. He formed an adventuring company, the Band of the Falcon, along with four close, trusted companions. Together the Band became famous for their heroic feats, and grew in power and influence until they found themselves at the heads of armies, defending the realms of Men from the hordes of chaos.
He was eventually crowned King of Aendrim, raising his four (commoner) companions to the nobility and naming them his Dukes, to administer his Kingdom.
Omund was murdered 53 years ago, in his 70th year (the 37th of his reign). He was betrayed by the Knight General of the Dragon Knights, Mandrake the Betrayer, and murdered in cold blood by Ajax's assassin, Tormacht the Overblade. After his death, the Dukes fought a desperate, losing war against Ajax's forces, and were eventually all captured and killed.
