Lytar

The Overpriest

Lytar is the High Priest of Nikros, whose dominion is Tyranny and Power. Little is known of Lytar's origins before joining Ajax's band of companions, but the legends say that it was he who swayed the itinerant campaigner and adventurer toward the path of the conqueror, believing that it was Ajax's destiny to reunite the Caelian Empire as Humanity's leader and savior.
Though it was Mortum who created Ajax's War Breed, it was Lytar who molded them, instilling within them a belief that death in Ajax's service is their highest purpose. True to the teachings of Nikros, Lytar claims that all those who die in battle while serving the Overlord will be guided across the Bridge of Swords in their afterlife, joining the eternal battles that rage across the blasted plains of Acheron.
Whether or not Lytar's sermons hold true, few can deny his power and influence. Of late, there are even rumors that Lytar has anointed Ajax as a Saint, ordering temples built to allow the Men of Aendrim to worship the Overlord himself as an extension of Nikros's divine power.
