The Betrayer

Once the general of King Omund's armies, Sir Mandrake was widely regarded as the greatest living Knight during the reign of the Good King. As the first of the Dragonborn to be created by Omund's Archmage, Vitae, Mandrake was said to be a perfect embodiment of honor, nobility, and chivalry, fearlessly leading the Gold Dragonflight against the forces of chaos. Indomitable in battle, it was said that as long as Mandrake stood at the forefront of Omund's armies, the troops' spirits would never waver.
While the stories of what occurred on the night of the Good King's death vary wildly depending upon the teller, all of the stories agree on one point: it was Sir Mandrake who sabotaged the defenses of Castle Omund and opened the gates for the Overlord's assassins. In one bloody night Aendrim's strength was broken, and thereafter Mandrake would forever be known as "The Betrayer."
