The Overblade

A legendary duelist and assassin, Tormacht the Overblade has been a companion of Ajax since the Overlord's time in the Nikaean fighting pits.
Tormacht is a Wild Elf, whose people dwell in the Timeless Jungle on the Caelian continent. The precise circumstances by which Tormacht came to be imprisoned in the slave pits have been long lost in the annals of time - all that is known is that by the time of Ajax's birth his name was already renowned throughout the Commonwealth as the legendary slayer of 10,000 men, a record amassed over more than a century of fighting.
At the age of 20, Ajax the Invincible became the first gladiator to defeat Tormacht in the arena. The bloody contest between the two has become legendary in the Commonwealth, and ended when Ajax allowed Tormacht to deal him a near-lethal blow to the chest in order to grab the nimble Elf and bludgeon him into unconsciousness. It was on that day, the legends say, that Tormacht swore himself into Ajax's service.
Tormacht's talents proved useful many times during Ajax's rise to power, none more noteworthy than the murder of Good King Omund, which Tormacht orchestrated with the assistance of Omund's Knight-General, Mandrake the Betrayer. Now one of Ajax's most trusted and valuable lieutenants, Tormacht leads the Faceless Guard, the Overlord's terrifying secret police.
