The Temple of Korazel

The party come to the Temple of Korazel on Mt. Alda in order to find shard cannons that can be used to fight against Ghallus. When they arrive, the party will walk through the temple courtyards. When they arrive at the central court, there will be a stone altar in the middle with a space to fit the Key of Alda. Cara suggests inserting the key and when they do, a holographic will appear of Ghallus who goes on to tell what happened in Alda the day he destroyed it. He will explain how the Aldar had become so greedy for power and technology that the only option was to destroy them. There will be a video that plays, showing what happened and what it looked like. The party will watch as the resistance rises up against Ghallus and attack him with the cannons. It will show the people of Alda and the assault on the Temple before everything goes white. After a few seconds of silence, the video will fade in showing the people dying and the land on fire and being completely obliterated. It will show major parts of the continent disappearing and crumbling into the sea. The party will watch in horror, after this it will show Ghallus putting the invisibility dome around it to conceal what was left. After this the hologram of Ghallus will reappear and he will say that nobody should ever know the truth of what happened there and that it would better if the world were to forget about Alda altogether. The video ends and the party finds the cannons and return to the ship, determined to take down Ghallus and make him pay for what he did and for what he may be planning to do.

Purpose / Function

The Temple was built to give great honor to God, who brought the people of Alda to their new home. In later times, after the arrival of the Arvalis, the temple was used as a place to house the Arvalis itself.

Architecture

It was built with a large open courtyard with pillars made from white limestone. Surrounding the courtyard are long hallways the have open walkways built over them like bridges. Unlike other famous temples, this temple has no underground system, but instead is quite simple in comparison.

History

The Temple of Korazel was built by the first King of Alda, Korazel. When the Aldar were still a small tribe of people, God spoke to Korazel and told them to travel to a distant continent across the ocean. That continent became the nation of Alda. The first place that they settled was at the base of a mountain that they named Mt. Alda. It was on this mountain that they constructed the temple to honor their first king.
