Tulip Poplar
The Tulip Poplar, also known as Tuliptree, Yellow Poplar, White Poplar, and Whitewood, is a very fast growing tree native to the many mountain slopes of Aerion. It typically reaches heights between 80-100 feet, while maintaining its straight trunk. With older age the tree grows a deepy furrowed and thick bark.
The tree got its name from its tulip-like, yellow-greenish flowers, which appear in mid-spring, accompanied by their sweet scent. The leafs have a unique shape, with four lobes seperated by rounded notches. Every fall they turn into a deep golden color.
The soft and light wood is commonly used for furniture. The tree is also highly valued as a honey tree, a food source for wildlike and as a shade tree for large areas.
