14th day of Poeta, 3517 A.R.
Learned to make potions at the Great Exchange festival. Seems like I have a knack for it.
Fought assassins. Dangerous, used poison blades. Going back to Greenwood Forest.
3rd day of Poeta, 3517 A.R.
Letter addressed to Boyan might just be an innocent mistake. Don't think they've found me yet.
Something is taking Fieldmans sheep back to a nearby cave. Maybe several somethings. Don't know if the Dragon Riders will be interested in this job or not. Made no promises.
Tried to impress on Brown and Rofferton that I value my privacy. Probably fell on deaf ears. Some people cannot be reasoned with...
2nd day of Poeta, 3517 A.R.
Brown and Welphina sent their pets to follow me. Between them and watching for enemies, couldn't manage to lose them. Finally had to resort to threats of violence and town guard intervention to get rid of them.
No sign of assassins yet, anyhow.
Made it to Fieldman farm late. Something is, in fact, taking their animals.
1st day of Poeta, 3517 A.R.
Something is wrong. Letter arrived from Fieldman. Addressed to Boyan. No one from those days knows me by this name. Has to be a trap.
27th day of Aurora, 3517 A.R.
Back in town. Three day journey to the stronghold, and three days back.
Company made young Dragon Riders look like worldly veterans. Careless and drunken fools. Two of them were killed by undead deep underground. Another two were taken by dark elves, including the explorer.
Venture was mostly a loss. Salvaged little treasure to sell.
Have been contacted by B Phrygian again. Has more work for me with the Dragon Riders soon...
19th day of Aurora, 3517 A.R.
Amethyst. Talked to barman in the right tavern. Told me a group of free brothers in arms lost their guide, and needed another.
Met with the company. Older than the Dragon Riders. More experienced. Should be much smoother work. The job is for one week. Explorer needs escort to ancient stronghold. Expect bandits on the road, maybe traps and bandits inside. Pay is modest.
The dog is putting on weight. Responding better to commands. I named him Nayden. It means "found" in that old tongue...
12th day of Aurora, 3517 A.R.
Road to Amethyst along the river is quiet and mostly safe. Found a pitfall near camp. Dog trapped at the bottom. Pushed fallen tree into the pit. Dog was able to climb out.
Animal is friendly. Remained near camp. Still has first teeth. Ribs showing. Have some food to spare...
8th day of Aurora, 3517 A.R., a supplement
Back in Autmnnach now. Found the creature Revina in the caves at the bottom of the Green Chasm. Fought her and her half spider, half dark elf creatures. Kadosh sealed the monster in his jar with a magic spell. The cavern collapsed, and we escaped through B Phrygians portal.
Returned the jar to the wizard in his tower. Offered rewards. Wanted his magic map, but was denied.
Walked through another magic portal to the Little Rose. More attention than I am comfortable with.
Heard about guide work in the east around Amethyst. Told the others I would be traveling north. Secured payment from B Phrygian and bid them farewell. The Dragon Riders are formidable, indeed.
8th day of Aurora, 3517 A.R.
B Phrygian combined the key halves and plugged them into his cube and made a magic portal appear. On the other side we found a plain. Vast and empty, except for this tower full of traps.
Upstairs, a crystal like the ones in Mystra's Amulet. A man was inside it. B Phrygian released him.
The plan for now is to use this magic jar to trap Revina after it is weakened. Back to the Green Chasm...
7th day of Aurora, 3517 A.R.
The plan worked.
B Phrygian set off his diversion, and we fled all the way to Grimjaw river to wait. After some time, the others appeared with the second half of the key in hand, and we returned to Autumnnach.
Easier than I expected. Maybe too easy...
2nd day of Aurora, 3517 A.R., a supplement
Commotion in town. Black puddings infested the feed store; wrecked the place. Rofferton had a close call with one of them, but spotted it in time. Killed them.
More in the square. Killed them, as well. Did not leave behind a residue. Turned to ash instead. Unusual.
B Phrygian and Brown plan to divert the black dragon in the swamp using fire and grain while we search for the other key.
2nd day of Aurora, 3517 A.R.
Been a busy couple days.
Even these dragon riders have heard some of the ridiculous rumors about me. Wonder if there are any that are true...
Met a strange old merchant on Hag's Roost. Traded my piece of the mage aconite for a magic sword. Then he disappeared in a puff of smoke. Neat trick.
Found the Blood Maiden at the coast. Was too dark to see. Rofferton mopped up the skeleton pirates all on her own, and we boarded the ship. Confronted the captain and demanded the key. He refused. Slew him. Found the key and other treasures in the hold before the ship vanished.
Back in Autumnnach now. B Phrygians Loremaster sent a shield that can block magic. Next, we need to come up with a plan to retrieve the key from the Dragons Tree. I think we are all going to die.
27th day of Tenebris, 3516 A.R.
Crossed the Murky Bay. Attacked by two plesiosaurs. They were smaller than I would have guessed. I suspect there may be larger ones present...
Valera and Rofferton remained at the docks with the dragons. Arrived at Hags Roost to find the gnome had flown on her dragon to meet us there. It was unnaturally dark. Bullywugs and spiders attacked. Brown used some sort of magic to frighten them away.
Found the hag near a nasty looking tree in the center of the island. Whole place feels evil. Brown was able to trade info for the crystal. Might not be able to destroy Revina, but we can contain her in some magic jar.
First, we need two parts of a key. One is in the Dragons Tree in the Quag, and the other is here on Hags Roost. We need to search a cave full of spiders to the north, and a shipwreck to the south...
26th day of Tenebris, 3516 A.R.
Could not find any new information about the Plesiosaurus living in Murky Bay.
The others are very popular after they entertained the town children with a magic show.
Brown knows a magic spell that made carrying the canoe to the Old Docks easier. The quag is now filled with thick, sticky, black webs. We ran into some will o wisps on the trail and killed them easily. The half-elf and her dragon killed two of them almost at once.
Found a safe place for the group to camp about a mile from the docks. I asked Kadosh to help. I knew I recognized him...
24th day of Tenebris, 3516 A.R.
The hafling dragonrider called Brown wanted to send the dragons out alone to scout for fairies. The kalashtar blasphemer Kadosh suggested luring fairies to us by boiling the strange blue fruit.
A fell wind came from the east, and two cloud monsters appeared. I warned the dragon riders that the creatures were dangerous, ducked around the corner, and braced between some of the crystals. The monsters crashed through them and disappeared. The gnome was nearly killed.
The dragons returned, having consumed some of the strange blue fruit, and by accident, discovered that is the only way to find the fairies. The fruit has strange properties and eating it causes random side effects. We all ate it and soon found the fairies and the source of the mage aconite.
After a rest, we retrieved the snail shells and returned to Autumnnach, rented a canoe for crossing the murky bay, and went to the library. I need to learn more about the Plesiosaurus...
21st day of Tenebris, 3516 A.R.
Headed back to town. Needed information to deal with “Revina” character. Priest at the church was no help. Mayor was only a little better. Suggested visiting the hag in Murky Bay to make an exchange. We need either a blindcap mushroom from the Dragon Tree, or something called a “mage aconite crystal” from Mystra's Amulet.
B Phrygian apparently composed a poem about our trip into the quag and recited it for the audience in the Little Rose upon our return. It was quite good, and met with cheers. Then I remembered the rumor about him. Something does not add up...
Dragon riders decided to try for the crystal. Ran afoul of a pair of giant snails (Need to carry salt from now on). The dragon riders did well, even though the snails seemed to resist magic attacks.
After a day of searching, only Rofferton has spotted a fairy dragon, and no sign of the crystal itself. Even if we do find one, getting it to Hag's Roost will be deadly.
18th day of Tenebris, 3516 A.R.
Met B Phrygian and the dragon riders at the Little Rose. Odd group. Heard a few rumors about them.
Sallied to fight ogres raiding cabbage farm. Joined by a kalashtar stranger. Slew ogres and took their fangs. All had black bony hand print on left shoulder blade. The others decided to drag the bodies back to the swamp. Told them not to bother. Didn't listen.
Figured ogres came from the chasm up north. Probably the source of the corruption B Phrygian mentioned anyway. Mostly avoided sidetracks from too-curious dragon riders and kalashtar and made our way through the dark wastes.
Something was wrong at the chasm. Something new. Ogres chanting, all with the same black mark on the back. Then a figure emerges from the deep, all shadow and smoke. Spoke to us. “Revina”, it said. Reached for us. We fled. Never seen any of this before.
Better be more to these dragon riders than just rumors...
9th day of Sacrementum, 3516 A.R.
Letter from the kenku I met in O'altalos. Needs a guide for an expedition into the Quag. Three inexperienced dragon riders and himself. Wonder how he knew I was in the area. Will take some time to prepare.
2nd day of Veritas, 3516 A.R.
Arrived in Autumnnach yesterday. Town of mostly dragon people. Heard about a swamp region nearby called the “Quag”. Supposed to be real nasty. No one has been there in at least 200 years. Might have a look.
20th day of Regalis, 3511 A. R.
Finished task for elf druid yesterday. Had some unexpected help. Surprised by a bear. Kenku appeared out of no where and frightened it off with magic.
Met werewolves calling themselves the order of the Moon Fang. Helped them deal with the dryad causing problems. Druid was grateful. Sent kenku home with magic.
4th day of Regalis, 3511 A.R.
Tried to meet with elder druid of Emnlune to discuss the problem in Greenwood Forest. Was turned away. Seems I offended them by damaging their sacred grove.
Approached by younger druid. Told me “Selune is the god of second chances”. Offered forgiveness for the destruction of their sacred tree. I must take one of their acolytes into the wilderness. We are supposed to retrieve a replacement from another sacred grove. Then I will be allowed to meet with the elder druid. Asked to teach bushcraft to the acolyte on the journey. Should only be a fortnight.
