A Fisherman's Encounter with Demise
"I usually don't listen to the tall tales of fishermen. They're all ridiculous. Claiming they found some gigantic sea creature, or perhaps an upside down rainbow, or some island inhabited by pirate skeletons. But this story? It was real. And I almost paid the price for not listening to it." - Unnamed Adventurer
"Hear this tale, because if you don't... disaster will strike you and everything you love. I saw one of the Ladies of Demise. I've been a fisherman most of my life. Along with my siblings, we usually take to the seas in search of fish to sell or eat. This time, I had sailed in alone. So there I was, a sunny day, calm ocean, throwing down my nets to catch me some fish. Out of nowhere, the sun was blocked by clouds, really dark clouds. And I was suddenly surrounded by a massive storm. Naturally, I knew what to do. I grabbed all the fish I had managed to nab, and booked it out of there. But as I was trying to sail away, something stopped my boat dead in its way. A sudden wave pushed at it, almost making it turn over. The sudden wind tore off my sail, and I was left stranded there, at the mercy of the sea. Then, as I was slowly getting desperate, something came out of the water. A sudden pillar of rotating water, as if it was a tornado. Within it was a woman. She had such a gentle face, dressed in a blue robe. And as the water dispersed, she stood on top of the ocean as if it was nothing. She had horns on the sides of her head, and she had her eyes closed. She looked right in my direction, but didn't open her eyes. At this point I assumed I had finally gone crazy. Then, she opened her eyes. One was as blue as the ocean depths, and the other... a bright yellow. Both stared right at me, with a killing intent I had never felt before in all my years. If she wanted to, she could have thought hard enough and I would have died on the spot. But after that... she slipped back into the ocean, and the storm dispersed as if nothing had happened. I hightailed it back home, and now my tale should serve as a warning to all of you." - Old Fisherman in an Arian town
