Grimsteel Hybrid Katana

Summary

Originally invented in Inari's Domain, the Grimsteel Hybrid Katana is now almost a standard issue sword, the techniques to forge it being almost a necessity in any smith living in Inari's/Ari's Domain. The sword itself consists of the usual forged steel katana, but it also contains grimsteel on the edge of it, melded with the traditional steel, ensuring the edge itself wouldn't need to be polished and sharpened nearly as much as the steel counterparts. Weighing in a bit more than the traditional steel katana, and also balanced in weight with another strip of grimsteel, usually within the blade itself, it still manages to retain an easy to grip and hold sword. The balance weight within the blade also helps with the sword possibly snapping, only the traditional steel cracking when tested.

Manufacturing process

The grimsteel is melded into the regular steel of the blade once it's already hammered to take shape.

While fairly common within Inari's and Ari's Domain, it is really rare to find blades like these outside of those places, unless carried by an Inarian/Arian.
