At the heart of the Scar of Fire is the Efreet city The Golden Dome of Pyrez. Bridging the doorway from Starhelm to the Plane of Fire, The Golden Dome acts like a plug, that keeps the gate somewhat protected. There is a separate gate to the Plane of Fire and another one to the Prime plane, but you cannot access either one without first going through the city itself. The denizens of the Golden Dome have a strict hierarchy that they adhere to religiously. Undisputed in their hierarchy are the Efreet, ruled by The Great Sultan Rashimad Uhkimar, son of Umayyad. He keeps a tight rein on the goings on in his city and he regularly rewards and tests his loyal subjects. His viziers are all loyal to him, and his people are happy with his rule. He is so pleased with his successes and fortunes that he is considering expanding his domain and severing his ties to the Caliphate on the Elemental Plane of Fire. He is biding his time until he can gain more power, though. Second from the Efreet are the Salamanders, who make up the majority of the upper class of citizens. They have taken up residence in the heart of the mountains, and try to stick as close to the Scar as possible, but there are some that brave further along, seeking to find new portals or access to lava, magma, or fire. While the High Emir of the Salamanders, Ssithmatar holds great power the true power behind those people lies with the High Priest Issthhmaar. He is a Salamander of great strength and vision, and he has a strong tie to Ignis, as well as the pure Elemental force of Fire. Ssithmatar and Issthhmaar are not at odds and work in conjunction with each other. Interestingly enough, even though they started as slaves to the Efreet, the Azers, who once were Dwarves of the region, enjoy the third tier of Scar society. They are the soldiers, crafters, and miners, for the Efreet but many of them still burn with hatred for what their captors did to their race. Dwarves of the region pity the Azers and do not hold any animosity as a rule, however the Azer do not typically feel the same way. They hate being reminded of what they lost and do not suffer Dwarves gladly. Finally, the lowest tier of the citizens of the Scar of Fire are the Magma, Steam, and Fire Mephits that roam the furthest from their home, their curiosity and general desire for havoc driving them ever onward. They are the creatures from this region that are most likely to be found in other parts of Starhelm. Located within the city is a temple to Ignis, that is the home of Lady Fireeyes, a Fire Weird prophetess who is known to tell the future. There are many who have heard of the rumours of Lady Fireeyes and have traveled great distances and braved many dangers to have their future revealed. Many do not survive the journey and for some, the price of knowledge can be too great. Those that have survived claim that she is never wrong.
