Lutien's Vale

Lutien’s Vale is the hilly valley between the Barrier Guard of Denethen and Denethen’s Mantle. It is one of the most prosperous areas in all of Starhelm. It was widely protected against the effects of the Fractioning and is home to Halflings, Goliaths, Gnomes, Gnolls, and Humans, with a smattering of Hill Giants closer to the mountainsides. The Collar is one of the more dangerous parts of this region and is home to a Fallen city that plagues the north. It is a bit colder than the south but the vale is protected by the mountains on either side so it does not get the harsher winds or cold of the rest of the north. The Vale is divided up into two sections, separated from north and south by the Lake of Battered Helms. Both the north and south consider the lake to be on their side but there is no real competition for it. The Avonshire River flows down the middle of the valley from the tip of Denethen’s Mantle all the way down to the Marsh of Menlos, emptying out into the ocean. It varies in width from very small to several hundred feet across, depending on where in the valley it is. It feeds the Lake of Battered Helms, which is also fed by rivers and streams from the mountains on both sides.
