Sitira

Sitira was named after its patron god, Sitiros. It was once upon a time a land of roiling fields of grape, wheat, and fruit trees. Then, through a magical accident named the Aperture, a huge rip in space-time caused the Faewild to run over into the Material Plane. The roiling fields of old were transformed into a strange hybrid of agricultural field and fae forest. Sitiros and its people were permanently changed. Not only did it have a magical effect on some of the existing inhabitants, it also caused a new influx of Phaedran. Now, the city of Sitira and it's neighbouring fields have been mostly cleared to have a somewhat livable polis. The rest of the region, however, is almost like walking through the Wild itself. Strange creatures and plants rule the Wild Woods, as they were uncreatively named. Many expeditions happen into the Wild Woods, often to collect some strange fruit, herb, or plant with magical properties, or to quell the spread of a certain species of magical predator.

Current State

Sitira is presently co-ruled by the twin monarchs Dymos and Delphi. The latter is also the leader of the Oracles of Sitira, an organisation that serves as augurs and advisors. They claim to have an indirect way of communicating with the Gods, though are secretive as to how.

College of Muses

There are many kinds of bards throughout Aeseron, but there is only one college where their art is formally taught. The College of Muses is located in Sitira, and teaches its students of beauty and arts. Some of these muses travel with great heroes, to record their exploits in song, others seek patronage with mighty kings, or decadently rich merchants.

Religion

Although all of The Primes are officially worshiped in Sitira, three of them are deemed as more important to most denizens of the polis. Firstly, obviously there's Sitiros, the patron God of the city. Other than him, the other heavily worshiped Gods are Charina, Goddess of love, beauty, art, poetry, joy, and jealousy, and Ikanos, god of wine, debauchery, sex, and the hunt.

Symbols & Iconography

The crest of Sitira is a bunch of grapes, but they also often use the symbols of their patron.
