Alarian Faction: The Brotherhood
Kingdom of Alar. Distinguished as the foremost influential Order, they serve as the hands and divines of law and jurisdiction, trying to fight for authority within the walls of the Hall of the Five Shepherds while it is already practiced on the people of Alar.
Upon reaching the age of 16, every Alarian citizen faces a significant choice: They must elect to join an Order, binding themselves to lifelong service, or entrust the Revered Orders to select on their behalf, a choice predicated on their individual aptitudes. The Brotherhood ranks among the Mandatory Orders, a mandatory option for young and old.
The Brotherhood is among the Five Shepherds within the Revered Orders, the institutions governing the Rise to Power
The Brotherhood's ascension to unmatched influence traces its roots back to the outcome of the Summer Uprising. Emerging from a humble and insignificant cult, the Brotherhood transformed into the paramount lawmakers of Alar, a transformation primarily attributed to the political acumen of King Harwo during the 800s and 900s. Presently, they reign supreme as the arbiters of justice, serving as judges, priests, and lawyers. Their sway over the common populace is bolstered by a deceptively simple yet profoundly intricate religious doctrine. Their faith centers on Morality and the Law of Alar, asserting that the Books and the Law constitute the only divine entities for Alar-kind.Legal Authority
In Alar, any decision pertaining to the law, whether by a judge, a lawyer, or any other legal authority, ultimately falls under the purview of the Brotherhood. The extent of an individual's influence within the Brotherhood corresponds directly to their rank, with higher-ranking members wielding greater authority. Central to their legal practice is the Book of Moralities, both a holy scripture and Alar's constitution, which every member of the Brotherhood must commit to memory. The Language of Law
The Brotherhood employs a distinct language known as Monral for codifying their laws and recording their judgments. Monral is exclusive to the Brotherhood, shrouding their legal proceedings in an impenetrable linguistic veil understood only by its members. This allows them to selectively translate essential parts of enacted laws into New Arkey, a language universally comprehensible, while retaining certain sections hidden within Monral for undisclosed purposes. This secrecy empowers the Brotherhood to conceal dubious dealings, corruption, and occasionally legitimize their actions when deemed necessary.General Information
