Aztheon Faction: The Seers of the Myst
The Seers of the Myst are a religious and academic group closely affiliated with the Three Listeners. Although they do not constitute a formal religious institution, the Seers' fervor for knowledge and science imbues their actions with a sense of devotion akin to religious zealotry. Their primary mission is to entice both Arkey (those native to the Magistrate) and outsiders to embrace the philosophies and ideals of the Myst.
At the core of Seer beliefs is the conviction that science and experimentation are the true divine aspects of life. According to their unique perspective, the Myst, the universe of life surrounding Aesor, holds a divine status. The Seers perceive the Myst as the progenitor of the deity Kalzamaath, effectively viewing the Myst as the divine mother of this dragon-god. In serving Kalzamaath, they believe they also serve the Myst. This unconventional belief system has led many to perceive the Seers as zealous and dogmatic, with some considering their views misguided.
The Abbey and the Magistrate
The Seers, despite their unique beliefs, have managed to find a solid place between religion and academic studies. The Abbey of the Óhin, which differs significantly in its beliefs and doctrines, has chosen to accept the Seers, even though their faith does not align with the traditional teachings of the Abbey. By acknowledging the Seers, the Abbey has expanded its reach, drawing more individuals into its fold, bolstering both its numbers and influence. The Magistrate of Aztheon, benefits from the Seers' passionate advocacy as well. Their dynamic and at times assertive approach to disseminating knowledge, faith, and wisdom has piqued the curiosity of individuals from various nations and academic institutions. This has led to a notable increase in the number of Feiln students (foreigner students) and Arkey students enrolling in the College of the Shattered Light within the Magistrate.A Gate to the Myst
The Seers, animated by their dedication to the Myst, are actively engaged in an ambitious undertaking: the creation of a dimensional door, similar to the legendary Gate of Valheis found in the Plains of Alar, maintained by the mysterious Fisherman. This portal, if successfully constructed, is envisioned to connect to both the Myst and the Archavast. Although they have neither obtained permission nor amassed the necessary resources for this endeavor, the Seers persist in their tireless pursuit of this goal.Unreliable Alternatives
The Aztheonic Gate, located within the Magistrate of Aztheon, has proven unreliable (just like the Gate in Vyt Ancora), further motivating the Seers to seek the creation of their own dimensional portal. The erratic nature of the Aztheonic Gate, often malfunctioning or yielding unpredictable results, has spurred their determined efforts to replicate the success of the Gate of Valheis, which offers dependable access to Annons and beyond.
