Councillerian Faction: The Truthseekers
Ephyrans. Their mission is to reveal the concealed truths surrounding Ephyr's Tragedy, comprehending its aftermath, root causes, and every detail that the governing Keepers have diligently kept hidden from public awareness for decades. In direct opposition to the prevailing belief that only the Keepers and their most trusted allies, those endowed with the memories of Ephyr's disaster, should possess this knowledge, the Truthseekers maintain that Ephyr's fate is a matter of collective concern, deserving transparency and not cloaked in secrecy.
The Truthseekers are a passionate group predominantly composed of young and inquisitive Hidden Truth
At the center of the Truthseekers' quest lies the event known as Ephyr's Tragedy. It was the most disastrous moment in Ephyran history, with its aftermath heralding a slow but steady transformation of their society, essentially leading to the establishment of the unofficial Houses, and the opposition between House Grove and House Garden. The Keepers, blockaded Ephyr’s inner city, (the alleged catalyst of the Tragedy) along with the Tragedy’s root casues and secrets from everyone but themselves. To the Truthseekers, censoring the most devastating chapter of Ephyran history is unacceptable. The Truthseekers fundamentally differ from the Keepers in their approach to knowledge. While the Keepers assert that the older and wiser members of society should regulate and handle this information for the betterment of the nation, the Truthseekers advocate for complete transparency. They contend that every piece of knowledge, especially when it concerns the nation and its capital city's fate, must be open, uncensored, and accessible to the public. The path of the Truthseeker is fraught with challenges. They face resistance from the Keepers and those who endorse their stewardship of information. This quest for truth sometimes involves covert investigations and a continuous struggle to overcome barriers designed to maintain secrecy. Their primary objective is to piece together the puzzle of Ephyr's Tragedy, disseminate accurate information, and inspire open discussions that could ignite a flame of curiosity in the people and potentially reshape the course of Ephyran society.Beyond the Tragedy
The Truthseekers are not simply seekers of truth; they also seek complete transparency in governance. They argue that the public should have the right to be informed about decisions that impact their lives and that a transparent government, free from the monopolization of information, is essential for a thriving and enlightened society. Even though, the Keepers literally operate the most transparent government across Aesor (even if they keep the details of Ephyr’s Tragedy a secret), since no nation ever does things like the Hollow Chant, in which they discuss problems and vote for solutions with the help of all who attend. However, even that is not enough for the Truthseekers. The Keepers view the Truthseekers' actions as a challenge to their authority, a danger to the Council’s peace, and the people’s harmony. They uphold their duty to shield the young and hard-working Ephyrans from the grim realities of Ephyr's Tragedy, asserting that such knowledge could lead to chaos or worse.General Information
