Quazar's Bazaar

Quazar’s Bazaar is an Annonic marcritic “ghost” market that is summoned by a strange Annonic entity and god known as Quazar. This Bazaar does not sell regular and mundane Aesorian items but collections of otherworldly chests made from a completely unknown source. To this day, academics battle the puzzle regarding the origins of Quazar’s strange collections, with most believing it to be the godly entity of the Orbweaver, behind the items’ existence.

Origins

Quazar (or in its Annonic name: Ti-ra’thadxus) was a masculine god of Tarasto, born from the consumed feelings of exquisite tradesmen who traded with exclusive and unique items. On Tarasto, the Annonic Gods of Greed mainly stand for and live by the most obvious “rule”; that materialized value and the personified currency is above all. Therefore, the value of an item is determined by the ability to convince others of its worth.   Quazar, like many other deities on this plane of existence, sought to attain wealth and material possessions, particularly from other deities of the Tarasto pantheon, in order to fulfill their materialistic desires. It is also important to consider that anything that is not nothing is always the most valuable in this context. Quazar was not the most successful of the Tarasto gods in terms of trading, nor was he the most charismatic. Consequently, Quazar was compelled to devise an alternative strategy, which led to the conception of his ingenious concept.   Quazar sought to utilise the Marcry of Neéro in order to transform nothingness into something tangible. However, this plan ultimately failed when Quazar inadvertently de-existed himself by tapping into the Blind Dimension of the Archavast. He was only saved by the other Tarasto gods, who intitially followed his lead in attempting to learn more about Néero. Quazar was essentially "revived" (or more like rebuilt) with an Annonic substance known as the Arthelparth. This is the collective name of the "substance" that the Archavast generates to create the Annons. In other words, it is the materialised essence of all the matter that the Archavast consumes.   Quazar, however, was only partially resurrected to become a part of the Annonic reality. A significant portion of his original form, comprising both body and soul, was destroyed the moment he touched the Blind Dimension (he visually transformed into an elemental-like, walking goo and plasma-type entity). Quazar experienced a sense of emptiness, a lack of soul, and a lack of motivation to continue his existence. The small group of his original followers who had been using trying to tap into the Neéro as well ceased to continue walking on this path due to the result of Quazar’s attempt.   Quazar was now confronted with the dilemma of having no viable means of going forward in his miserable life. However, his remaining immortal self wanted to continue existing (since the desire for existence is within all and everyone, a rule set by the Myst’s original vision). So he had no choice but to turn to thievery. Quazar became a thief of Tarasto, attempting to steal and hoard materials that could satisfy his needs for reality value. This was in order to achieve a sense of relief, as was the case with the majority of other gods.   Nevertheless, Quazar was no less a thief than he was a businessman. Quazar was quickly apprehended and presented with two options:
1. That the gods of Tarasto cast him into the Blind Dimension for his misdeeds (basically killing him).
2. That Quazar tries his luck with leaving Tarasto all together via the Annonic Pathways.   Given that the desire to remain in existence was stronger than his desire for self-destruction, Quazar elected to pursue option two, thereby becoming officially exiled from Tarasto.   Stepping into the very unknown, Quazar chose a pathway at random, with his remaining godly Marcry powers serving as the sole barrier between him and the chaotic horrors that awaited him in the Annonic tunnel, leading to a different Annon. Without hesitation, Quazar leapt into the unknown, not looking back for a second.   Quazar was certain that he would experience a significant decline in his mental state, and the uncertainty regarding the pathway he had chosen only served to increase the potential dangers, as he was unable to prepare for the challenges he would face within the pathway or the Annon if he were to survive. Quazar entered the Pathway and encountered disturbing visions, as well as Travelling Annonic Gods. Upon seeing them, he was certain that he was headed for Ulan, the Annon of Travel & Long Roads. Quazar managed to traverse approximately half of the Pathway. However, he was abruptly diverted and redirected into a divergent pathway. This pathway was not an Annonic Pathway. It was a tunnel of webs and fates transformed into otherwordly silk.   According to his own legends and tales, Quazar was summoned to the Orbweaver and her own Annon. The Orbweaver informed Quazar that she had been observing his demise and was now offering him the opportunity for a fresh start. She told him that she was in need of a Tarasto god to establish an Annonic market on Aesor. She demonstrated a lack of understanding of the fundamentals of trade and the use of currency by mortals so she required the assistance of an individual who could provide the proper knowledge and expertise regarding the concept of trade. Upon acquiring knowledge of the existence of mortal-kind and Aesor, Quazar asked the most obvious question: Why?   The thing is, that this is the end of Quazar’s side of the tale. Quazar never actually told his costumers or the public in general about the Orbweaver’s true intentions. However, we academics appreciate Quazar's assertive personality, as it was only through him that we became aware of the Orbweaver's existence in the first place.

The Beauty of the Bazaar

The Bazaar itself is a truly marcritic and awe-inspiring entity. Quazar’s little market appears for noone but for himself, in a place of his choosing. Because of this alone, attempting to plan around the appearance of the Bazaar is nearly impossible. It is not only the place that is random, but also the time he spends in one place, or in-between Bazaar Days. These “Bazaar Days” can take up to weeks, days and sometimes even just hours or minutes, it completely depends on Quazar’s personal judgement and preference. Or at least we believe, that it depends on that, however there are many academics debating that Quazar is but a toy to the mysterious entity, the Orbweaver herself.
The price of the items within the Bazaar are one of the most rather interesting things regarding the whole thing. Instead of stating a static price for each of the items, an individual can only pay with the following two main methods:   1. You state the price you think one of these items or chests is worth. With this method, you can pay with any official and internationally accepted Aesorian currencies or pay with exchanging one of your own personal “treasures” for any one of the items listed in the Bazaar.   Now, what is most interesting is that Quazar doesn’t accept just anything that you value yourself, the man examines and is certainly looking for one or more specific traits, attributes within an item that he values and can accept as an exchangeable.   The same applies to paying with actual currency. Quazar provides a custom price to every single person, depending on something that he will probably never tell us. You have all the right to start bartering and try to squeeze out a better price, however, Quazar can be sometimes completely random depending on the Óhin knows what, and could even potentially raise your price drastically instead.   What could be the changing factor in Quazar’s personal prices? General sympathy? Maybe he is reading minds? Or probably he is looking for a reasonable challange in bartering? We might never find out.   Quazar never told the public or possibly anyone what he really is looking for within an exchangeable item either. Could it be the sentimental value to a customer? The value in currency? Perhaps its marcritic potency? The same as with the prices, no one truly knows this either.   2. The second and only alternative to paying with currency or an item is by redeeming an Ivory Epitaph. A piece of marcritically signed and protected paperwork that was created by the Ivory Select with the guidance of their legendary deceased archmage, Talahn, the Ivory Lord.   Redeeming one of those is the only way to acquire an item from the Bazaar’s stock, unless a person is willing to pay the price that is asked for them.
What is also most intriguing to witness is the nature of the chests and items that are on stock. Most of us academics believe that an item of Quazar never actually materializes into our world until a purchase has been confirmed, meaning that there is zero chance at successfully stealing any of Quazar’s items.   If that was not enough, after numerous close examinations, it is safe to say that the items on sale are not only not part of the mortal world, but are also protected by marcritic seals, created by an unknown source which most of the academics agree on to be the Orbweaver herself.
